It's not shady. Car still has the MSO, so it's still a new car.

That said, it's not the best discount, but it's still more than what they were selling demos for around here.
Appreciate your input.

The real shady part is actually how they presented these numbers. They resisted every attempt at having a breakdown of the details of the final lease number. Does not want to disclose MF or how they generated it, or how MSDs changes the numbers etc. Adding extra charge for existing tint. One of the high MSRP M5 on the moroney stated CF pro rear spoiler, which is absent from the updated pictures. How does that work?

Listing M cars and non M with 1k plus miles as NEW cars? That's not what I would call a reputable dealer I want to establish relationship with.

As much as it's abt the machine it's also abt the purchasing and human experience

I certainly agree with you there. I don't deal with dealers who don't give me a full lease breakdown either.

When I was shopping for an SUV this past spring, I was told by one dealer that I just "wasn't calculating the lease correctly", even though I had a similar deal with another dealer for over $100/month less. I asked them to provide a breakdown so I can see where the extra $4,000 was going, but they declined.

Your definition of "new" and the auto industry's definition of "new" are two different things. A car is new if it has not been previously titled. If it has, it's used. They're basically executive demos or being used as courtesy vehicles. There's nothing wrong with this.

In fact, if someone bought a car, titled it, drove it 50 miles, then traded it in, the dealer couldn't sell it as "new" despite it having less miles than some cars sitting on the lot that still have the MSO.

If you're not comfortable buying something with more than X (100, 250, 500, 1000?) miles on it as "new", that's perfectly fine. Personally, if I'm leasing, I don't really care about the miles, since I'm not going to keep it more than 3 years anyway.

However, it's not like they're trying to hide anything there, and if they're giving more of a discount on a demo with 3K miles vs. 10 miles, which they should, then it can be a really good deal.

I just picked up my M5C yesterday. Here was the deal:

MSRP - $122,695.00
Adjusted Price - $103,095.00 (included $4,500 in rebates + $15,100.00 discount)
MF - .00128 (buy rate)
36 mo / 10k

I traded in my 2013 911 C4S, so I got some tax benefits as well.

Drive off was $1,158.47 (first months' payment)

I thought it was a pretty solid deal all around (including the trade value on my 911 - $64,000.00)

Thanks to everyone on the board for their help and insight

I'm so confused... You traded in a vehicle and they gave you 64k for it? Or they deducted the price to your lease?

they bought my car and cut me a check for $64k. Helps offset the 6.25% sales tax in our great state.

Oh thank Christ... Thank you for the explanation, lol... At first it sounded like you traded it in and even with the trade in that was your final out the door price after the porsche price was deducted lolol...

So yes, sounds like it was a good deal from what you say, lolol...

I just signed a $123k 2019 m5 competition. 36/15k, RV of 57%, MF .00168 (nothing I could do regardless of income and credit score), and 13% off MSRP before $4500 in lease credit and loyalty. The dealer said they wouldn’t go down to .00128, but the discount offset that some. $3000 down including first month and drive offs, and monthly payment of $1,306 before adding maintenance and T&W for a total of $1,399/month.

I don’t see how that’s going to be possible even with the increased residuals and discounts. The car you’re describing is at least $125k base.

Maybe if you stack 7 MSDs, but even then I’m not sure. Good luck and report back if you find something in that range.

Hope the rental is good because those prices, even with maxed out MSD, competition and the options you asked for? Realistically currently not mathematically possible...

With nothing out of pocket? Maybe à base model '18 back as the '19's were coming out? Maybe?

Just fyi, I am willing to go a bit higher and/or put some $$$$ down (not too much as it is at risk capital with a leased vehicle). Does BMW Financial permit MSDs in California? I should also qualify for the $2,000 discount (not leasing) and BMW CCA.

There appear to have been many lease deals here on '19s in the $1,050--$1,300 range on cars that were not stripper cars. We will see ... .

i'm at 1270 for almost identical msrp. i think i could have squeezed lower, but i appreciate my dealer and the difference was negligible. regardless, the recent pricing is fantastic!

Lol you're a very optimistic person to say the least... have there been ridiculously good deals lately on leftover comps? Yes... but you're reaching past that lol.

BMW CCA has nothing to do with your lease price... I don't think you're getting it - they can't just magically make your payment "$1100 or less" on a M5, let alone one with the options you requested... To get $1100 a month, that car would need to come in LOWER than 100k...

I'd start looking at cars.com for M5's packaged the way you want and start negotiating with dealerships... This time last year there were deals to be had on '18's so who's not to say, but I'm afraid without some crazy amount down and max MSD's and possibly an act of god, what you're asking for is not doable...

All because you "read it" on a forum, doesn't mean it's accurate or true... Math is math, numbers are numbers... It doesn't add up is all...

That’s a good deal. Does that payment reflect including MSDs or no? The deal I got was the very best I could get and ended up driving over 150 miles in my truck to haul it home. I also had a first class buying experience and terrific follow-up from the dealer after the sale.

That's not happening. Go buy something you can actually afford so you're not stuck in that rental. Can't believe how unrealistic some people are here..

Tough guy!

With all due respect (and not much appears to be due),you have no clue what I can afford. I am just reluctant to be locked into a deal on a car that is being redesigned in a few months.
