Yes they look great. The CF package on a White M5 looks amazing. I have CF license plate frames, does that count??? Mike

Just doesn't do it for me. I like CF; I've got the oem carbon m performance pro spoiler, diffuser and side skirts. Not a fan of the kidney grills or mirrors being CF though. Imho it passes the threshold of too much CF. I love the design of the mirrors, and I feel like the CF covers take away from the design aesthetic; you can't see it as well. Just my humble opinion.

I think it depends on 2 things: 1) what color your car is and 2) what overall effect are you trying to achieve. Too much of anything is generally not a good idea in life, and some car colors don't look so good with CF. However, IMO, strategic placement of CF can enhance an M5's appearance. I have installed a lot of MP upgrades (springs, exhaust, etc.) and a fair amount of MP CF on my '21 CP saloon which is Alvite Grey (but chose not to do the CF kidney grill for similar reasons others above have mentioned) and get compliments of how nice the CF looks. Botton line: If you're going to do CF, (and I would not cut corners on any other brand than MP, their fit/finish is tops) it will always be subjective. What really matters is what you enjoy looking at. And yes, 100% agree, get it PPF'd or ceramic coated.

I fully agree, I had the Autoteckic grill installed, and it doesn't fit well with the front camera, and worse, it popped halfway off during a speed run causing damage to the bumper. Off getting the OEM one... stay away from Autotecknic is my opinion

I have the M Performance carbon fiber grill on my passenger side, but the Auto Tecknic version on my driver side (my only option due to having night vision). This did require carefully transplanting parts of my old grill into the new one, and I had to massage one or two tabs on the Auto Tecknic one to sit tight on the “old” grille slats, but it turned out really nice and it’s super secure. No complaints now.

I had the shop try and fix the fit around the front camera twice, and it's still shit. I just hate getting parts that don't fit well. My motto is to do it right or don't do it... and Auto Tecknic should highly improve on doing it right, so no fiddling or massaging parts or having to modify them. I was somewhat skeptical when I bought it, and that should have been my trigger to say no, but it was worth trying. So if anyone wants an Auto Tecknic Grill Cover that fits an LCI and needs some fiddling/massaging in the near future, I'll have one for sale. |

I think the BMW CF grilles look great, and the gloss black versions look a little cheap (I have had both). But I seem to be in the minority!

I have the LCI non-comp with the chrome grilles as well. I like the chrome, it gives some contrast with the black vents. If anything I would like to change it to a satin/matte silver grille if BMW makes an OEM in that configuration along with matte silver side and rear M5 badging. Does BMW offer that as an accessory? Can't seem to find it on the Internet.

I didn't even know it was an option my first (previous) M5. CA was awful and so unaware of the M5 in general (I wasn't much better but at least had a passion for it, however new). I think it's one of the best looking CF pieces, though.

i had the crappy Autotecknic ones that you had to remove the OEM pieces and snap the new piece together, i saw the overlay option that look terrible as the camera seems recessed and it stuck out. So glad I return that and got OEM

I think the CF bits look amazing on the F90 lines. Did the front grills, mirrors, and splitters. Mine is pretty murdered out though minus the wheels for contrast.
