It is true. M Performance Exhaust eliminates use of the valves.

This is news to me. Perhaps it's true

No need to take my word for it. Look at an Akrapovic F90 exhaust vs the MPE. Akrapovic has the mount for the valve actuator, MPE does not.

^^^Thanks for the replies. Was leaning toward Akra anyway but this makes for an easy decision. Definitely don't want a loud exhaust, all of the time.

Where are you guys sourcing (or going to source) the Akra system? I bought my last system from IND and see that they still appear to be a distributor, but was wondering if other sources could save some $$.....

I got mine from vivid racing and got it for $1000 less than INDs best price. I'm scheduled for Jan delivery. Def check them out.

My m5cs is in quality check. It's been there for awhile now…not sure what the delivery time is from this point. Any thoughts?

Also looking to add an exhaust, would like to focus on weight. I'm not overly concerned with noise as this will not be a daily driver.

I will say I put an AWE track exhaust on my m4 with catless downpipes and it is unbearably loud :-)…I would actually put the switch path (valved) in if I drove the car more. Not looking for that, but also not concerned if it's loud on startup and can be heard at cruising speeds.

Recently, I criticized the buckets. Well I take it back. You see, I was so excited to get an M5 CS back that I spent most of the day in the car after delivery. Thing is I had a sweatshirt on and the seats were still wrapped from the factory. These two factors likely gave me the upper back ache after spending 4 hours or so in the car. The tightest part of these seats are the upper bolsters that touch your mid-to upper-back area. They are very tight and I do wish they were adjustable. The added thickness from my sweater and wrap made it way too tight. I cannot wear a thick sweater or jacket when driving this car.

These seats are a joy, fit me like a glove. I could easily daily drive this car even with the buckets. I'm so used to 991 GT buckets and can tell you these are more comfortable. Also, the higher car height of the M5 versus 911 makes getting in and out so much easier.

It's been raining in CT for like a week now and I haven't got to drive lately but just came back from the garage after prepping wheels for ceramic coating. I'm so enamored by these wheels (even though they weigh a ton and they're not black or silver lol) and how they look with the gold calipers. The combo somehow elevates their look. And the dark matte green just takes it all to another level. Very strange as I'm obsessive about having only the most subtle color combinations on my cars. (To the point where I can't even tolerate yellow Porsche calipers on my cars.) It'll be a good study to see how long before I tyre of all these colors. Had a green (BRG) Speedster and sold it after a few months after getting sick of the color. Hated the way it looked in direct sunlight. Loved it in every other lighting condition.

Pretty sure I posted this pic already but I know many of you will find it interesting to know the weight (front wheel) and also know they are manufactured for BMW by Fuchs. Happy New Year to all.

I did my first somewhat long drive yesterday. 1 hour and the seats are very comfortable the whole way. One thing I must say is if you adjust the seat to fit you better it's more comfortable. Everyone should take 5 minutes to play with the adjustments a bit to find the best fit.

^^^Absolutely. However, there's limited adjustment for the area I find most restrictive. It is adjustable just can't get it to open up quite enough.

Good to know. If mine ever clears the port and I can pick it up.. I'll be spending a nice 6.5 hours with the car on day one. I'll be able to give a legit report on seat comfort pretty quick. 😀

Are you waiting on the RAM retrofit? Which port, if you don't mind me asking.

Yes @ RAM. I believe Charlestown, SC. It's been there not quite 2 weeks.. so it seems I could have quite a while to go. 🤷

Guys, I don't mean to sound like a dick but using quote more sparingly in these forums makes for a better user experience.

On mobile it doesn't give us the ability to remove part of the quote. It's all or nothing.

Guessing the rear will be 28-29. BC forged 20in looking at around low 20s for the same sizes. Let's say even a 7 lb loss in unsprung weight in ea corner gonna be a win!

Yeah but heavy, understandable bc they're factory wheels. With some lighter ones it'll be a better drive/less power loss to the ground

I'm a little skeptical that aftermarket aluminum wheels could shave off that much weight while still being as strong.
