M5 CS - the 4 door supercar killer - hands on

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
BMW Seattle gave me a shout and let me know the new BMW flagship was in.. so I raced down and with the new owners permission and help, got hands-on with the M5 CS!

What an INCREDIBLE car! BMW really went all out for this one, and made what is I believe, the best M5 ever.

Packed with updates, new technology and unique elements like the gold/yellow halos and bucket back seats, this monster is a 4 door supercar destroyer.

Truly impressive.. if you get a chance to check one out, do it! Even better.. buy one!

To OP, where can you get an M5 CS now? I thought all the allocations are gone.

a $140k car already sold.. yes, I am not driving it. I was more than happy to get the ride with a fellow enthusiast.

There are a few.. in a different thread there was a dealership picture of one in the showroom, not sold yet, with a $100k add-on second sticker.

I’m sorry - but - the bronze trim and red interior ruin this car for me. I was interested in it - till I saw it in person. 😑

Ditto. Looks like something out of a hot wheels catalogue.

Same. I get that it is a phenomenal driving car but it looks juvenile inside with those seats…especially the rear setup. Not to mention no Bowers and Wilkins is a dealbreaker for me on a 140k M5
it is a very distinct car for sure, and style choices can be polarizing. Ironically I LOVE the back seat change, and see it as a feature.

The gold bronze looks baller. It's weird they didn't make the exhaust gold bronze like some of the presser cars. Interior looks great to me but honestly the red "CS" on the dash is the only thing really out of place to me.

I guess it's a good thing I didn't option my M550i with B&W. I will just be doing a lateral in what I hope is a few weeks with the CS. Definitely not a deal breaker or maker for me. Although if nothing else about the enjoyment of the audio quality…B&W is visually much more appealing. 👍

One of the reasons I didn’t want an M3 was because it isn’t available with upgraded audio. I’m not saying I would pass on a CS if I was even able to find one but I don’t think the HK and the carbon buckets would work for me for a daily. I’d love to wring one out for a weekend, however. Aside from that, I think it looks great.

Good video OP, thanks for posting.

I will would HIGHLY recommend the Bimmertech Alpha Ones then (for any BMW) as they trounce the stock HKs.

In general, I despise red interiors, gold wheels and accents, and matte paint jobs. However, in person, the M5 CS is unexpectedly tasteful. Hot AF. I marvel how it all somehow comes together. Would I feel better with black exterior, black calipers, and no red deviated interior stitching. Yes, especially for a daily driver. But then it wouldn't be as special. It's nice to see any manufacturer get something like this right and pay attention to small details (especially BMW with the abomination of many of its new designs.

Front painted reflectors on order.

Alpha Ones for speakers but I get you on the seats. I would LOVE to have them but are a severe challenge for daily driving. My wife would probably get in the car once, then never ever again with those seats

Absolutely!!!! those orange reflectors (in general as is) NEED to go!!

Color matched reflectors have been the first mod I order for like my last 5 BMWs. When I upgraded the front facia on my F32, I ordered the euro model as to even avoid having those reflectors in the first place!

Yes, actually. One of the many reasons I didn't just get another M3.

I actually had the opportunity to pick up an M5CS at MSRP but ultimately decided on a 22' M5C for many of the reasons already cited.

Price had nothing to do with the decision as the 22' M5C will come in close to $155k.

Cars, like many things in life, are a personal choice based on individual preferences as well as likes and dislikes …. All of it subjective.

We're all truly blessed to even be in the position to have these choices.

Life's short, go with what makes you happy!!

Happy Holidays!!!

Agree. Part of the appeal is the aesthetics. I'm not an audiophile though I do prefer not to have garbage sound like I did in my X3MC. Probably would have been better off leaving my iPhone on speaker than the X3MCs crap
I recently installed a full set of Alpha Ones including subs into a 2021 X3.. night and day difference
