Who is planning to occasionally track the new M5?
I plan on doing a couple track events with it. Mosport is only 50minutes from my house. I think it would be tons of fun. Anyone planing on tracking theirs?
Anyone who had a F10 M5 track it? How was it?

Me.
Will do some 1/4 miles and some lap days ( at least 2 time during the summer) But people have told me to change the oil brake before lapping the car ... |

You will want to switch to a higher performance brake fluid. Other than that, you should be fine until you become a more experienced driver (on the track).

I am planning to track it about once a month. I still haven't ordered my car and wondering if I should spec carbon ceramic brakes.
Does anyone have experiencing tracking the F10 M5 with steel brakes? |

I plan to track it a couple times per year. For this reason, I went with steel brakes. I don’t want to have to spend $20k+ every two years on brakes. I’ve heard from a friend with an F10 CCB that he replaced rotors and pads after 4 track days and 30k miles.

I will try road course with it - and I know it is capable - but the weight will make your brakes and tires scream - I just don't enjoy that. |

My CCB pads and rotors on my f80 were look 60% done after 2 track days in hot Florida sun. They also recommend you replace the brake pads on the CCBs at 50% wear because they act as a heat sync and keep the rotors from wearing faster. If you plan on tracking steels are the only way to go. Unless you are a big baller and wanna spend 14k every 4 track days.
