$1153/mo. Picked up today. Got lucky in TX with tax credits that got me a payment closer to our CA friends. Getting used to this thing. Lots of torque and tech
Lease or Finance? 2019 or 2020? Build or on a lot? Need more info!

Lease. 2019 on lot for some time. It is their last 2019. I was quoted $1650 back in August on this exact car and it sat since at least then. Had 170 miles on it but I couldn’t split hairs after a certain point. Very hard to make deals in Texas and I really liked silver stone interior.

My read:

Lease because he quoted annual mileage.

2019--my guess; 2020s don't lease that well (yet).

On the lot... or, again, good luck with that deal in most (not all) scenarions.

… let's see how I fare.

// EDIT: oops. should've refreshed beforehand but the assumptions panned out.

Is that for a 2019 or 2020 car?

Got presented with this deal
2019 Comp

Kinda torn since the color combo is not the first choice (Donington + Black) But is the deal too good to pass?

If you don't want it, I'll take it! Don't pass. DG is a great color.

That's the base spec for my 2020–it's a great color combo.

When I asked for a $15K'ish discount, the sales guy replied, "good one!", and slapped his knees heartedly.

Best I've seen is 10 percent on a 2020. Deals are still clearly with the 2019s. My ordered 2020 m5 comp just got on the boat today

Nod, agreed—that's what I've heard of late.

When I picked mine up, there were perhaps 12 cars unspoken for (per cars.com) so my room for maneuvering wasn't as wide as I'd have liked but as the lovely Selena Gomez says, "the heart wants what it wants uh onts uh onts onts..."—I think perhaps those last few syllables were unnecessary but I can't be held responsible for her lyrics.

For those leasing cars out of state, sometimes far away, do you drive the car back home or transport it?

Just curious given the mileage limits on leases.

I drive it every time and I LOVE IT! Gets through the break-in mileage quickly, too.

What are the chances that we see a continued improvement on the residual values of the 2020s in January?

At that MSRP, I think you can do a little better. Does the lease payment include usage tax?

I don't know, but I am in South Carolina so sales tax on cars is capped at $300 flat limit regardless of sales price.

Definitely think you can do better. On the table atm:

2020 m5 comp

Msrp $124064
After Discount $112064
Money factor .00128
36 months 12k
Monthly with tax $1529
Drive off $2179

Still torn between this and a 2019 on a lot with not quite the same specs but potentially a deeper discount.
