New LCI pics
It seems the back will maintain a bit more mystery than the front. Anybody with some mad photoshop skills that can show this bad boy, sans camo wrap, side-by-side with a ‘20?

While the grille is unified, at least it escaped getting much larger. I can't tell if that's the classic double-slat grille with weird angles or an all new interpretation of it?

Yes, I have been worried about something like the gargantuan grilles that are apparently headed the new M4’s way. Hoping that’s a trend they are just trying, that nobody will like it, and that they will give it up.

Er, because Germany?
Guys, I may not be examining every single pixel as closely as I could here, but I am just not seeing any huge differences. Even what I am imagining the back looks like is nothing drastic. Of course, the new headlights may radiate unobtainium or something cool like that, but I do not see any hugely compelling reason to wait, if one is just dying to get into an M5 right now. I seriously doubt any major interior layout changes, either, or with iDrive, since these basically just happened, so... |

I hear the LCI will have a track mode...But that it won't have a performance boost over the current version. My 2020 M5C is at the port waiting to sail to me...
I actually don't like the Audi headlights on the new M5. |

Congrats! Now comes the excruciating part...waiting! LOL. I remember very well, waiting for my E92 M3 to "sail across the pond". May happen again very soon, with a brand new F90 M5C!

Hmmm... the one thing on this pic we haven't seen before is the little flares in the rear wheel arches... this would be DRASTIC and unprecendented in BMW LCI history but what if it grows some hips?? Would be amazing.
Historically those little fender flare things are on test cars whose production body will be wider. So maybe those rear panels are off a regular 5? Who knows. disclaimer: I would be SHOCKED if this happened but a guy can hope based on a little bit of evidence right? |

Same as the new 3 Series grilles. All of these changes are already on prod cars. Tail lights will be the same size, but displayed like the new X5/7. Front bumper will have some different creases. It’s an LCI.

If you look at the history of LCIs on M cars.....they do not normally change bumpers. They will change headlights and possibly tails.....but they put new ones in that fit with the existing bumper. This is at least how the M6 Gran Coupe was and how the E63/E64 M6 was.
I am pretty sure the F10 M5 did not change bumpers, either. I will say I HATE the direction BMW is going with the angel eyes. They look like any other car on the road now.....the circles or even half circles at least distinguished them. These hockey sticks are the same as Kia and Audi.....very basic.

For what it's worth, this pre-production M5 doesn't even have the standard M5 seats. Note my zoom in on the front seat headrest. Looks like a standard issue 5-series seat.
