The real time traffic information was working fine until last night.

Today, nothing. If I go to the traffic information screen, it tries to retrieve the traffic information and then tells me there is no traffic information.

On the Nav display, the traffic information button on the right toolbar does not have the RTTI logo. However, the service is activated in the settings. I've double checked this a dozen times.

On the connected drive portal, it tells me that the RTTI service is "not available for your selected vehicle", a brand new F90 M5C (!). Whether this is because it's included for the first 3 years, or is indicative of some weird configuration issue, I don't know.

Anyone seen this before or have any advice on what to do next?

This is a UK car / service in case that's relevant to the problem...

This problem resolved itself spontaneously. I presume BMW's servers are not particularly robust and had some outage of some type.
