Today

Am a new member, long time lurker. 3 weeks in on a 2019 regular......My god what a masterpiece I have purchased. Had a 2010 M6 but this is definitely next level. Only have about 800 miles on her so far so have been staying away from giving her all the onions until break in is over. Today some random guy pulls up next to me in a 5 year old vette revving it up showing off his custom exhaust trying bait me. I have dreamed of this situation ever since I bought the M6.....Light turns green, he hammers it, I let him go. Probably the best example in my life where I practiced proper restraint. My greatest wish is to find him again about 400 miles from now.

The "guy" in the Vette is Best Spanked, when you have your three kids with you, blow him off at the light and at the next light the three kids are laughing and waving at him. And, the guy's GF, in the seat next to him, is also laughing her ass off at him. Did that in my '03 RS6 a few years back.

Mike

(PS. Got my A&& handed to me when in my M2 vs a 2009ish Z06 that did not quite sound stock when sitting next to him at a red light. He did not pull off the line fast, nor did I, but after rolling past 20 or so side by side, the tone on his car suddenly changed, ALOT, and BANG that car FLEW! I caught up with him at a gas station to admire his heavily modified Z06. He does not pull off quick from a stand still because the car simply does not have any grip for the 900 plus HP it puts to the wheels. Huge engine, Huge Supercharger, etc.)

Pretty sure I would have smoked him as it was a double left turn light and a fairly short straight away before the next light. Even if highly modded no way he could get it to the pavement. Just made me sad because I was adhering to the break in protocol!

Ha thanks, not too many people know who Turd Ferguson is. I had a few cocktails when I was sitting in my garage messing around doing all the settings, set my name as Turd Ferguson on the car.... Makes me chuckle every morning heading to the office.

I had to do a double take on the story, would be funnier if this was something in the versus forum.

Yeah you have to be careful next to the new Vettes. Few weeks ago in my 135 an a-hole in a newer Vette was behind me and gunned it to get in front of me and almost took off my front bumper and I wasnt even messing around. So he's in front of me and I was pissed after honking, we are doing 60 on a 4 lane local road in right lane. Left lane is open and about 1/8 mile ahead is another car in the right lane. I thought even if I hammer the 135 to the left maybe I can get the jump that he cant catch up enough to get in front of me before he gets to the other car. As soon as I did that and was right next to him he hammers it, the Vette lost traction and came halfway into my lane almost crashing into me, I had to brake after moving into oncoming lanes a bit before crashing into oncoming traffic.

If I ever see him again on that road again and he is behind me I am going to gun it quick and then slam on the brakes so he rear ends me. The 135 will be totaled and the 20k will be a nice down payment on a M4 vert 6spd.

Um, sounds bad. Just let the "Wookie" win........and rear end crash not necessarily a good idea......especially since you posted your plan here, perhaps just "gun it" and then let up on gas without braking, um, still a bad idea! Go back to "let the Wookie win."

But for sure the Vette in the wrong hands, on less than ideal surface conditions is dangerous. Even with a good driver. Friend of mine did the off road experience in his Vette without a mower deck attached.
