thanks, interesting to read. i live in ny and our roads are terrible too. i dont mind the harshness that much as the thought of the damage being done to the car from the gaping potholes and uneven roads, but i guess both the regular and M5C would suffer in these conditions

Interesting thread....I haven't gotten around to test driving either variant, but I'm wondering if anyone has a comparison with an f80 passive suspension with 19s. It rides very stiff and you generally feel every bump. I don't seem to mind it at all but my wife wants something a little more comfy.

I'm a realtor and I have clients in my M5 Comp and I have never had a complaint about ride quality.

Ok..i started this thread so i want to add something...my biggest fear was is car to stiff?!
Today i picked up my M5 competition!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Well to answer to myself and to all M5 COMP enthusiasts. CAR IS PERFECT and COMFORT. I drive 640xd and X5 40d both M sport and i find M5 comp even more comfort in some situations. So if any of you who has a doubt about M5 or M5 comp dont have! M5 comp is amazing car, daily driver and beast..Dr Jackyll and Mr Hyde.. And one more thing..you need to be aware that you are buying M5 comp, not normal 520d...but car is very special and if you can afford it,just go for it!👍 |

The ride quality is not the issue, it's the increased firmness of the ride which has pros and cons. I would even say the ride "quality" surpasses the non comp.On smooth roads the suspension is second to none. On rougher patches it could be annoying.

I agree, it depends on where you live and drive. I actually programed my M1 button back to comfort mode for the suspension. Even in comfort, it still handles well enough for 90% of my driving/commute. Not like comfort on the M5 is sloppy or anything.
