The M5 did pretty damn good IMO.

Enjoy!

I hope that was a stock M5. A Tune, Catless DP, and exhaust should make that video look different. I will have to install all of these, I have one friend with a Demon and the other with a Audi R8 V10. Hate to be the slowest.

I'm surprised. M5 did great. 1 car length loss in a 1/4 roll race is impressive to a +800 hp Demon.

You think it’s possivle for an f90 to be that close with a demon on a roll?

Yes, it is possible, if the Demon is running 91 and the M5 is running 100 octane. Once you get some good gas in the Demon it’s game over.... they can trap 135+ stock, something which a stock M5 will not come close to...

Good point, they make them seem fast. A lot of guys on the demo forums can’t break 10s. Magazine has them going 9.65 stock

The only problem is almost none of the owners are trapping 135+. I have seen 126-132 MPH - 128-130 on average. That is not miles away from the 126-128 MPH I have seen F90 M5's do in the wild at average DA.

I agree with OnFire - the bone stock M5 is doing more than it should here...that should be the headline...

That Demon roll races a LOT , so it’s not a newbie issue. A Comp M5 in that race would be a coin flip.

This video shows both demons running over 135mph traps at 1200DA.

If they are properly setup and are running 100 octane, they will have no problem with an M5 roll or dig.

If they are running 91 octane, they trap considerably lower, and that is where the M5 has a chance.

What also needs to be pointed out is that from a dig/low speeds, when at these power levels, an adjusting Awd system will be more consistent than a rwd system.

This might not always be the case but you can be sure that with the full 840hp and traction a stock M5 has no chance against the demon...

Yet here is one with 100 octane fuel topping out at 131mph at sea level.

Go figure...........

Although onfire already showed the differences between races - never and not once did I compare the 100 octane race fuel setting with the pump gas using F90 M5 - nor should anyone lol. I am talking pump gas versus pump gas. And pump gas versus pump gas - the F90 M5 gives the purpose built Demon a run for its money in a roll.

On 93 I think it is still quicker and faster overall - but not by much I agree. 91 - it may even be slower than a Hellcat on 93. 91 has no place in a high-performance FI car. I know in some States - that is all you can get - but this is where ordering in fuel comes in lol.

I raced a Demon today...he struggled without new tires. That said - his MPH was 132 to mt ~128. And he was on the Race PCM with over 100 octane.

Would love to see a 1/4 mile rolling race between a Comp and a Demon.

Ask and ye shall recieve...did a roll with the Demon today - and dig's on street surface - mega video review between the two to be released shortly.

Until then please scroll to 2:10 of this video...my CP versus a Demon on race PCM. He struggled. I didn't use LC.

Another very cool addition would be the 991.2 if he is willing to play.

I unfortunately didn't get a chance to race him that day...he is from a big Tuning Shop here - very cool guy - but he was just base lining before their work begins. That said, you never know...

Your info has been very helpful. Enough to stop a 991.2 purchase. lol. Demonology is very good at roll racing and only beat the M5 by 1 car length. Illustrates the great gearing and turbo torque of the M5. The Demon (when hooking) and the 991.2 have a MAJOR advantage over the M5 from a dig. I’ve seen a Demon on a prepped track go 1.35 and a 991.2 go 1.5x when launched properly. M5 can not compete with those numbers stock. A Roll Race is the equalizer. I think it would be very competitive against a 991.2
