My car just arrived at the dealership. Based on the sales managers recommendation we scheduled delivery for the afternoon of Tuesday the 2nd. He said BMW FS doesn't always get the new programs out the first of the month, but he was confident he'd have them by noon on the 2nd.

New programs come out when current ones expire. On BMW's website it states when current offers expire (view lease offers for any model and then details). Currently it is Oct. 1st so new will come out on Oct. 2nd.

I want to lease and then buy so now I'm hoping for same residual but big lease incentive.
Can't wait for Tuesday!

Bad news for getting the numbers for each month, now we're at the whim of the dealers. A real shame. |

Seems like MF and residuals should be transparent and if dealers want to mark up so be it. But as consumers we should be able to at least know the base "facts". Will be following to see if more information is provided. |

Of course dealers cannot change residual anyway so it is really about MF which I am pretty sure will be available through Edmunds or some site/forum. The rest of the specials like loyalty were always available and most dealers even ask to see what you can qualify for since they want to sell a car and that is free money. Not sure I understand what the big deal is not being to post these in one place. |

My CA just called me. Not only did the residuals stay the same for October, but they bumped the MF buy rate to .00182! BMW really does not want to lease 2019MY M5s right now. Unbelievable!

Yep just checked out the lease rates and residuals are the same AND they reduced "suggested dealer contribution" so the lease terms are worse! Also, the APR for financing has increased supposedly from 2.75% to 2.99%. Going to sit with CA on newly arriving 2019 and I honestly will walk away if they don't budge. 2018 cars are sitting on the lots everywhere, so I'm not sure what is going on.

I think it is more about rebates plus MF
a dealer don't by law have to disclose rebates for you and they can include them as part of their discount !!!! so if you don't know that there is 4 k in rebates and they give you 5 k off MSRP , then customer thinks that they got a great deal , until they check the forum and do the leg work and find out that they got screwed it was nice when info was available quickly |

It looks like BMW is killing there lease residuals across every model, leases are about attractive as Audi now.

Yup, M5 Competition is particularly brutal w/ no incentives to boot.

AGS - Aren't you picking up your car today? Was there any wiggle room in your deal? Any advice or push back from CA you can brief me on as far as your lease deal? I'm pretty sure I am going to finance buy (my custom 2019 base arrives this weekend supposedly), but I still wanted to keep leasing as an option, but this month it seems the deals have gotten worse lol. Maybe I'm just wishful thinking.

I posted this in another thread, but I've copied it here for you as well: If you decide to stick with the 2019 M5 Competition, I can make a few arguments why you should still lease (even if the programs are shitty) if you would otherwise finance the car or pay cash. These suggestions assume you lease for three years and then buy the car at the end. 1. The embedded rate at the current MF of .00182 is 4.4%. Unless someone is offering a 0% financing program that is a pretty attractive rate in today's market. 2. By leasing (or financing) you can leave your money invested and potentially earn a better rate of return than 4.4%. 3. I'm not sure how leases are treated in TX, but in NJ you only pay sales tax on the depreciated portion. So if you're otherwise going to buy the car you defer payment of the sales tax on the residual value for three years. 4. The lease gives you a free put option. If the market value of the competition models tank (unlikely) or your car is involved in an accident and suffers diminished value you can turn it in at the end of the lease and make it BMW FS's problem. Just some things to think about.

Seems BMW is lowering expectations so any little improvement in Nov/Dec (in mf or residuals) will make people jump and seal deals. Expecting delivery of my m5 (non comp) late November and getting really nervous.

Just so people are aware there are dealers that will discount 19's to Invoice you just have to call. I have gotten invoice or lower on 18's and 19's.
Certain dealers won't but most will. BMW Hendricks in NC and Crevier in CA won't wiggle at all. However dealers in middle of nowhere US will drop pants on the car. Stay persistent and consistent and you'll find a deal. I am finalizing an 18 thats 118930 msrp and I at 1304/month which is a great deal. |
