The main difference is KW HAS allows you to adjust the drop to your liking.

But as far as lower, M550iX I think is the lowest drop.

KW HAS uses helper spring.

For some, the helper spring will give comfort, but for my personal taste, I don't really like a combination of helper spring with progressive spring.

For example, my customer with Nardo Gray is on HAS and he prefer Comfort suspension.
While when I drove the car, I like it better in Sport setting for the suspension.

Thank you for your reply bros. I saw lots of owners said KW HAS is more stiffer than the OEM. maybe they are comparing to the regular m5 not the compt.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but that helper spring is just there to provide tension against the adjustment collar. As a mechanical engineer, I think it's a bit unnecessary when there's a locking Allen screw on the collar itself.

I believe the helper spring is there to keep the main spring from losing tension if the owner wants a large drop and has the lower spring collar turned way down. When the weight of the car is loading the suspension, the helper spring is pretty much fully compressed at any ride height. But, at full droop with the extra distance between collars, there's too much travel for the main spring alone and it'd be loose between the spring collars without the helper. Does that make sense?

Quick review of the KW HAS

I had them installed this morning and I cannot tell any significant increase in stiffness on normal road conditions (Comfort / Sports / Sports+)

No sign of bouncing either.

However, I can tell the system is stiffer when going over speed bumps as the KW triggers my dashcam that has impact sensors which didn't happen before.

I am dropped about 10mm all around.

Will report back after some more road time.

Better is subjective, better looking - KW

Ride quality will change with how low you go, typically doing springs you do lose a little bit of comfort since the shocks/dampers are not designed to work with lower springs.

From our experience, the ride quality is very good. No drastic loss in comfort and improved performance in handling and steering feel in all three modes

Is the KW HAS kit able to have a uniform wheel arch gap for both the front and rear?

Uniform 1 finger gap front and rear, very do-able

If you wanted the arch to sit right on top of the tire on stock wheels, no.

The lowest settings front and rear will make the car sit level, which is going to have a half finger gap front and no gap in the rear

Both are different. Comp suspension is really good but taut. KWs springs in base cars smooth out the ride. Rebound is not as sharp especially in the rear, otherwise it’s exactly like stock. My base f90 is about 1/4” lower than a comp on KWs

I think Slayer might have been referring to the M Performance HAS kit:

Just try to figure out is that reason to set KW on M5 competition and now I know about M performance HAS kit and what to set for best look and not loose and maybe do better

About 3 weeks into the KW and I am very happy with result. The car feels just right in Sports suspension mode for spirited driving. I am dropped 15mm front, 10mm rear and plan to raise the rear 5mm as the car looks a bit squished.
