You have to pay yearly for carplay access? Is that how it's always been?

Was considering a a trade-in for a new M5, but I'm going to hold off until 2020. Given the speed that BMW is moving, it's likely they will offer another variant of the M5 in the next 12-18 months.

Does that options list say 'Moonroof'?

Why would BMW raise the center gravity and weight on a car that's already a pig but more importantly labeled 'Competition'?

Sorry, that's a load of BS marketing that you've been fed. BMW does not support Android Auto yet so if anyone is switching phones and wants to use the system, you're using Apple Carplay. Don't believe everything you hear or read.

Isn't that what a normal M5 is for? Just seems ironic for a model that is labeled as 'competition' to be heavier and have a higher center of gravity. Nonetheless, I'm sure owners will enjoy them.

How is rear view camera still part of executive pack? I thought by law it was required to be standard on all cars?

iOS 12 will enable the use of 3rd party mapping apps (Google Maps/Waze) so it will finally become usable. Car nav systems are so worthless these days so this at least is a step in the right direction.

I hope you're right and I agree about the car navis being garbage at routing. I constantly have to check google maps on long drives to confirm I'm not being taken a retarded route.

https://www.transportation.gov/brief...ity-technology

" The U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) today issued a final rule requiring rear visibility technology in all new vehicles under 10,000 pounds by May 2018. This new rule enhances the safety of these vehicles by significantly reducing the risk of fatalities and serious injuries caused by backover accidents. "

Sounds like BMW is ready to open themselves up for Class action with their greediness over options..
