For those who have experience with this what does this mean?
Is CEL still there? Is it directly related to RC?
Please elaborate made me nervous
This is what going to cause someone comes with conclusion that RaceChip causing CEL ot blown motor.

Let OP comes back with the detail.

There are so many possibilities with CEL itself.
G30 5-series, G01 X3, G02 X4, and G12 7-series gave out CEL just because the Active Grill is malfunction.
So, it is not necessarily because of the RaceChip.
My Cel went away tonight randomly. From what I remember the paper work mentioned something about air sensor fault in turbo chargers however I'll get the correct language tomorrow.
I always tip my SA with a $250 Amazon gift card every time I get my cars back.

This was just a mistake by me for not removing the race chip but it does suck that they flagged it and did not speak to me first

It's simple, BMW doesn't want you tuning the car, blowing it, and taking it in for warranty work like MANY have done (or tried to do) i don't care who is willing to admit it or not. I personally know 7-9 people who have blown f10's, all from modfications, some got away with new motors, some not so much. Thats the game unfortunately.

Bottom line is OP should've been smarter and removed the modification beforehand, regardless of what the car was in there for. Sorry to hear this. You now have a brand new 100k m5 with zero motor coverage.
^^^ this ^^^^

Crazy how many people in our relatively small group blew engines ....

This doesn't even matter, becuase in a case of catastrophic motor failure, the regional rep is coming in, and I can guarantee you your SA has no say when he steps into the shop.
Everyone have a price.
Let us know how that goes for you.

With the exhaust flap now electrically controlled instead of by vacuum, is there a handy sort of resistor or something that we can plug into the disconnected wires to tell the DME that the valve is still there?

If I remember correctly, you removed your primary cats?

Most of those sound like they did not flash tune the DME properly. You have to check off multiple boxes in the program to turn off all of the cat ready criteria.

I know I put it back to stock to see if it shows the same codes

I’d AGREE with you 100% if this was a “I blew my engine up, removed the piggy and the Dealership found out through a DME scan...I’m screwed and that’s wrong!!!!” THREAD. If I break it, I pay for it. Period.

But it’s not.

Quickburn just had some bad luck. The piggy did zero damage. A properly designed piggy will cause zero damage. The Foreman was an ASS pure and simple. If I were his boss, this would be rescinded with an apology to Quickburn or you. If they wanted to warn him verbally that if it damages the engine, he owns it...ok.

Preemptive Flagging is OverReach. No harm, no foul.

I hate they treated you this way Quick.

I agree here 100%.

There is the letter of the law so to speak and the spirit of it in this case. I didnt have all of the OP's info when he first posted so of course, based on what he said, I was going to bad mouth the dealer foreman. Is it the dealers job to be proactive or reactive? The only time, IMHO, they should get involved in a flagging situation is when BMWNA is called in to play; meaning a factory rep has to come out and inspect the car due to a severe claim. This was not the case as onfire clearly stated.

The Foreman was a dick (not Richard).

Your CEL are for:
- Exhaust flap control is disconnected, you'll need a bypass plug. I can try making it for you.
- O2 sensors since you have catless downpipe, need to fix from your flash tune.
- ASD not coded off properly.

Your Oil pressure message though, that's what you need to check.
You can toast your engine with low oil pressure.

The cost of BMW service is bad enough without paying extra.

No disagreement on my end regarding having the car flagged but I think it's also a wake up call regarding the stance BMW is taking regarding modded cars.

Prior to getting my M5C in September 2018, I had two F10 M5's both w/ piggys and zero issues taking it to the dealer connected. I never had one issue with the piggy and the car was never flagged. I've not done anything to the M5C but it will certainly be in the back of my mind if I were to take a modded car to the dealer today despite the great relationship I have with the SA.

I don't want to sound overly paranoid but God only knows if the higher ups are being incentivized to flag modded cars and save BMW NA money in the long run.

Either way, I've said it here a million times, "the days of carefree modding are long gone". Pay to play.

Quick, sucks but thanks for posting this and sensitizing us all to this reality. THANK YOU!

Are you taking it to Braman?

They are VERY mod friendly. When I purchased my X6M the Sales rep told me to not worry about any mods that I might have planned. He will hook me up with a SA who will take care of me

Yes and you're correct regarding the fact they're very mod-friendly but .... what's to say what happened to Quick couldn't happen at any dealership? All it takes is a foreman that's having a bad day and little the SA can do.

I'm not modded at the moment .... but it's only a matter of time.

Even if somehow the wrong person becomes aware, suddenly everyone will cover their ass.
This is why it's so important to know everyone from your tech up, and make sure the same team always takes care of you.

Does the M5 really needs a tune ?
Is it that slow ?

I'm sorry , but I don't get why people always want more power.

The M5 certainly isn't slow, not by any stretch of the imagination. For me, though, I bought the car for its luxury, versatility and performance. Like many others, I like to "enhance it" (subjective, I know) on all fronts including performance. I like the end result but I love the process; the looking around, obtaining reviews, creating something that makes my car unique, dragracing it, etc... love, love, love it.
