Anyone experiencing any weird glitches since the latest software update?

For me when I open the driver door and the instrument panel turns on, an X5 vehicle shows up instead of an M5. Weird! This only happens intermittently for a few seconds or less before switching back over to an M5.

I've tried to capture it on video but I can't seem to get it when I try to record. I'll keep trying and post it once I get it.

Anyway, I'm just wondering if this particular issue or any issue like this is happening to anyone else?

What sw build you running? I don't think I've gotten the OTA one yet.

Interesting. I'm still on the Nov 2020 software as when the vehicle was built. Tells me the car has downloaded and ready for the newest OTA March 2021 software and will install 30 mins after vehicle is parked and cooled off. Never installs, been like this for weeks. Anyone else have this issue or maybe I need to do something to initial the install?

I had to initiate the install. Don't remember exactly what I did, but I remember initiating it.

You definitely have to initiate the install. I too was also in the same boat. There is a checklist that shows you what you need to do to start the process. It was telling me the only thing left to do was to put the vehicle in Park. For the life of me, I couldn't figure it out until one day I started the vehicle, press the park button on the shift knob, and also engage the parking brake above the Auto Hold button, and then turn the vehicle off. See if that works for you?

The latest version installed for me is 03/2021.50

It's stock software from when I got the car new and the first time I've seen any kind of remote update.

I'm having the same problem. I'll have to try the auto brake button to see if that works. For some reason my iPhone won't pair I hope the update fixes that.

My car showed an X3 in the display once after an update. But my M5 image came back the next time I started the car. No idea what happened.

I actually have a - "do not update" on my file at the dealership. Had two updates done to my car and both caused havoc. Now, a part of this is my fault - the f90 was tuned and had mods and for whatever reason the updates in 2019 didn't sit well. Plus I lose all the euro coding so now they just don't update unless I ask. Stock car? Should be pretty okay, like updating your MacBook. Tuned? Your mileage gonna vary lol

Gotcha. Yeah, mine is bone stock w/No tune.

Finally was able to initiate the OTA update to the latest March 2021 update. However, once updated, I'm getting malfunction messages for my high and low beam lights. Also, the backup camera is all out of whack. The top view now is on the left side not on the right side and there is a missing image with a line as the back view and top view are in opposite sides of the screen now.

Probably will contact my SA to take it in this week. Anyone else having these issues and if so was it easily corrected by the dealer?

I stopped getting updates. At least the dealer updates because it kept giving the car issues and throwing weird malfunctions. I got tired of it and having to redo my "euro coding" each time so the service department kindly put a "stop updates" on my file. I couldn't handle it anymore so told them I'll deal with it on an annual basis if that. Currently have some emissions thing and SA told me it doesn't change anything just probably bring more issues lol.

Just a quick update. After locking the car and didn't use it for a few hours, got back into the car started it and everything was normal again. The camera views were good and the error displays on the low beam headlights were gone but noticed my M1 and M2 settings were off. Just reprogrammed them and all good. Strange how initially received error displays and an off camera view right after the update and it was just suddenly gone after a few hours of not using the vehicle.

I’ve noticed my CarPlay becoming more intrusive than before. If the phone gets a message it automatically kicks the music source to Apple Music. I’ll have to investigate if this is due to an update.
