I loved the idea of the X5M as I love SUV's but after driving it i realized a few things: The X5M did not overwhelm me with emotions like the M5 did.The 20k difference in price was well worth it.
Lastly, I hate to say it but you can notice the difference between German made M5 and U.S. made X5M IMO

Hi all, I have been trying to figure out where to post questions on my purchase. Coming from a 2015 M3 and going to a 2018 Donington Grey.
My new M5 has the HEA package. I have been doing some digging but the posts I have seen are for the US (19" wheels etc) Can anyone share what was included in the 2018 HOA package?
This thing is going to be fun

man, I'm pretty sure you bought the car I was looking to package. I'm trying to find some HEA package cars around the Montreal area.

Congrats!

You win the most dramatic step up so far in this thread... that's awesome.
Yeah it took a little convincing for the dealer to take me serious when I started asking about their allocations for 2019s when he saw me pull up in the accord....
Husker M5 inspired me to show my previous car...background is I never felt the need but always had the desire for a nice car...I usually made sure my wife had a nice SUV so that her and the kids were safe...I just drove the older version family car until recently...best part my wife was the one that negotiated the best deal for my M5 like a boss...she did all her negotiating via email and when we went to pick up the car they were shocked when they asked her "do u want to test drive" and she shook her head like...been there done that...sorry for the long post...and here is the step up...Toyota Venza to ecstasy

Bought a 2018 M550 because I thought it would be economical and a decent M5 light that would be just as good with a stage 1 Dinan tune... I was wrong 🤣 Test drove the M5 and sold the M550 after just three months 🙄 Rocking a Frozen Arctic Grey 19 CP now! No comparison!

I feel like I need a muscle car at some point in my life but not sure how long I'd stay interested in it.

Interesting thoughts. I own a Black '18 ZL1 with the Automatic 10-Speed transmission, lots of carbon fiber, etc. and it is awesome! It handles like it is on rails. I cancelled by order for a '19 M5C after driving the M5 (std) and the ZL1. To me, the ZL1 feels and sounds much faster and meaner. However, from objective metrics from a dig, the cars will be close due to the M5's AWD as you mentioned. Even though I am in Southern California, when it is 40F--60F, or when the tires are not warmed up, the ZL1 will spin in the first 3-4 gears or more if you do not practice throttle management . This is definitely an area of advantage for the M5. Of course, the M5 has a much better back seat and is more luxurious, etc. I may still get a M5C in a bit! Congratulations on your M5C!

No comparison in handling with M5 Comp. Whatsoever. ZL1 does not come close in handling or instant on performance. It will catch up eventually on the track but will lose O-100 or at least that’s my impression of the M5 Comp. Definitely 0-60. ZL1 still a great car for the price tho. That M-10 is amazing.

Agree to disagree. The M5 is heavier, with less HP and torque.

I had a f10 550i Msport with Dinan S2 and it was more aggressive looking than the F90 M5 (not better in any way though). F90 M5 just looked too sedate and not as fast as the ZL1 (other than AWD situations). I also had a Gen V Viper GTS at the same time. Perhaps something was wrong with your ZL1? Did you have a M6? (Doesn't matter in any event).

Anyway, let's agree to disagree rather than sully this thread. Enjoy your M5! It is a great car.
