Just picked up a 21 M5 comp, black on black... Coming from a '10 C63 Weistec stage 3 C63... Never thought this day would come, I was pretty hard AMG, but they seem to be lacking now.. This M5 facelift really got it.

Any tips, tricks, or good threads to read? I am pretty fresh in the BMW world, cheers!

Picking up Tuesday, will post then. Been watching youtube vids all day, so much new tech in these cars... crazy. Love the credit card size key, that is sweet.

Congrats on the incoming delivery. The digital key is very sweet, although I use the app more when I don't have my key

Get H&R M550 lowering springs and spacers (15MM in front and 12MM on the rear), ceramic coating, PPF and carbon fiber accessories inside and out. Not sure they've cracked the DME yet on the 21s for tuning but I have a 20 Comp and it doesn't need a tune.

Play around with the various chassis / engine / transmission settings and lock in your M1 and M2 buttons.

Get familiar with the I-Drive; this will take a bit of time but narrow your learnings and focus down to a few key features - for me they were the Navigation with voice; the Apple Car play integration; the Sirius XM presets; and setting up quick jumps to tire pressure and oil change settings.

Set up your preset buttons - mine start with my favorite radio stations; the last one is always set to call my wife.

The LCI M5 is amazing. It is civilized but yet so savage when you let it loose.

Just picked it up today... What a car... It does it all and the tech is mind blowing, its like the space shuttle compared to my old c63 lol.

I can't get the instrument panel (dash) to change to sport or track for some reason, maybe a bug? No clue how to see KM (miles) on it....??

I have the M1 to casual and M2 to all out mode, which is what I drive in daily. 2wd and traction off... Hate that stuff on.

It seems really well put together and the customization is huge.

They told me the 2000km service was only a brake check, is that true? I wanted to do an oil change then to flush the break in material out...

I think if you hold the M1 or M2 button down long enough, it will save whatever you currently have set to that button. A little trick.

Congrats on the new car, looks awesome!

To change the instrument display to sport, press the M Mode button on center console which switches between displays (Standard or M view).

You daily drive yours in 2WD? Impressive, I’m too much of a wuss. Guarantee I’d put it in a ditch around a tight corner doing some spirited driving.

Love the lasers. Be very careful with 2 wheel drive on continuous. You may forget what you are dealing with until it is too late.

How do I see the KM (miles) on the car? It doesn't show it anywhere or trip information etc?

Can I program the dash to always stay in M mode where it shows the tach on sides and speed centered?

How do I go into launch mode? How many km or miles is suggested to wait before trying launch?

Repeatedly press the BC button on the turn signal stalk (assuming you know where that is since it's a BMW and you never use turn signals). This will cycle through widgets on the right hand side of the instrument cluster and one of the choices is trip data which includes total miles on the car.

Unfortunately not, an oversight on BMW's part, car always reverts back to Road view.

Explained in owners manual, quite an involved process and I believe you have to wait till break-in service to do launch control (1200 miles)
