Your sales person should have given you a build date. It took 1.5 months for my order to get to scheduled for production status.

good choice on CCB, cleaning wheels will be a breeze.
Thank you brother! Technically, I haven't seen it yet myself lol

But I just got settled from work and logged into this. I'll be refreshing this every 30 min for the few months.

Can anyone give me an ETA on what to expect as far as when it will be ready for delivery? I'm guessing 10-12 weeks?

Mine took 10 weeks but this was in 2018 so not sure how COVID has impacted timelines.

Congrats on the build. Really like the color.

For the timing of the build, it will take 3-4 months, most likely closer to 4. For reference, dealer submitted my Nardo Grey build on Aug 31 and it arrived at the dealer on December 11th. The wait for the car to go into production was the worst part, but once the car went into production, it took about 5 weeks to be delivered from there. I will add I lucked out because the port was next to my dealer, so you may need to add a week or so in for the carrier to deliver the car to your dealer. The wait is brutal, but well worth it in the end

Good luck and can't wait to see some pics

Individual order.

The general lead time for BMW Individual Manufaktur products is at least 6 weeks. Special paint should be planned with approx. 8-10 weeks. For special upholstery you have to calculate with significantly longer lead times (min. 14 weeks). This lead time is necessary to develop the construction deviations for the plants and suppliers, to provide the process partner with the required material and to produce the upholstery according to the customer´s request. Exception with special equipment 944: The production of the contents takes place in the BMW Individual Manufaktur after the F2-date in the factory. The delivery week indicated in the system is extended by approx. 3-4 weeks. Please consider this in the customer consultation.

My Individual from order to delivery
Order 10. feb.
Prod. Date 15. juli.
4 week in M-
Delivery 19. september.

Yep. Been stuck at port apparently for 4/5 days now as well. Think that fuel vent recall really slowed down things for me at the end of 2020 as by the time its all said and done my build from order to collection will be over 4 months. No worries, i ordered well ahead of my current lease end just in case and seems like i made the right move.

Update: I reached out to my Sales Associate yesterday to ask when to expect to see "production scheduled" on the BMW website.

I was told that my M5 will not be going into production until second week of March, which is around that 1 - 1.5 month AFTER placing the order. Oh boy- this wait will be BRUTAL.

What was your experience after the car went into production?

Nothing special, I just check the site a couple of times a day to see if the status has changed. I took a screen shot of each status change just for my records. This is the first car I have ordered!!!

After car moved to Production Begins, it was there for 7 days. Then completed the production steps between January 20-25. This included a weekend. The car left the factory on the 27th and arrived at the port on the 28th where it is now. I checked the port where the car is supposed to arrive, Galveston, Texas. This port is run or maybe owned by Wallenius and Wilhelmsen. So I assume this is the shipping company to be used to transport my vehicle. I then checked the ship schedules on their website and could see they had a ship which left on January 28th and the next one leaves on February 11th. So I guess the car will just sit at the port until then. The shipper's site gives an arrival date on March 6th. So maybe I will get the car on March 13th.

Wow that is a long time. My car got to the port in Germany the day the ship left so it is waiting on the next ship. It is two weeks between ships leaving for Galveston, Texas via 6 other ports on the way.
