It's very difficult to argue that this car is anything other than awesome!

they would test the cars individually for different stories in the respective magazines. Different drivers, maybe even a different car. I think Car & river fancy themselves faster.

The next M5 is rumored to be electric and have 1000hp, so I guess it seems the horsepower wars will never end.
why don’t you tweet this to Elon Musk?
Elon is laughing all the way to the bank

It's because C&D does all kinds of dubious crap to get the numbers down (include 1 ft rollout, DA correction and so on...). Just give us real world dragy numbers under street conditions.

Is the next gen m5 for real coming out with 1000hp? That's already beyond the power a stage 2 f90 m5, I can't imagine how anyone can use that outside a track.

It will be electric. So expect performance similar to Model S Plaid and Lucid Air Dream edition.

I heard they are coming also with a hybrid option for it like the upcoming X8M.

Ok he is an awful car reviewer. Basing a decision on where he personally drives, London area. Of that accounts for 0.00000000001 of the human population. Luckily I'm not one of them. Diggin my M5 in the US all day!!

Not to mention when these depreciate to nothing in 20 years and is accessible by high schoolers… oh boy
it's better than someone buying a Hellcat which is strictly RWD because then it gets dangerous

I think we're already there in my personal opinion. I'd much rather have a car with decent power and 3 pedals, than something that is too fast be fun on the street (which is the trend these days). While I appreciated the fact that the M5C I test drove is great at everything, I found it way too easy to get myself in trouble and thought the M2C I drove after was more my type of car.

I just finished doing rod bearings on the Z4M and have really enjoyed the amount of power it has (still not revving it out) and its sole purpose of just being fun.

Low temp thermostat. My friend runs it in his
Bm3 m5. It’s helps but not quite a solution.

The 2020 M5C is legitimately a 2.8 sec car in launch control on the street (6.7 to 100 mph). This was on a 60 degree day on dry concrete. The car chirped all four tires on the 1-2 shift. Sick acceleration / launch. It's hard to describe the mid range punch and on demand shove in the back at all speeds below 100. Agree that it lacks a bit of driver involvement, but it's a great business jet for the road.

I believe RT and C/D are sister magazines now and use the same data/testing info, although not sure when it started.
Rollout guys—it makes for more dramatic magazine or video cover pages.

What Carwow ran was without rollout.

My JB4'd M5 ran 60 in 2.53s on pump gas. My M8 is 2.59. Stock really is capped around 2.9 so the Youtubers and mags incorporate rollout—brings in the views I guess but nonetheless impressive.

Regardless, it's freakishly fast, fun, frowned-upon by minivan and Tesla drivers and fuckin' all the better for it.
