Appreciate this thread. Before and after. LCI screen in my 2020. 10.25" to 12.3". Fits perfectly. So happy with the results. Paid local AV guy $50 (1/2 hour install time). Here are some pics

Screen arrives tomorrow. How angry is this install going to make me? I see all the forum pros saying it’s easy but I’m skeptical.

No coding needed on my 2020. Simple plug and play.

I was able to do it with simple hand tools and trim removal tools for the dash pieces. Took about 20min or so. The most nerve wrecking part was remove the trim pieces and it sounding like every clip was breaking. Turns out none broke. I could have been doing it wrong, but it all worked out 🤣

Install was a little stressful and the right-hand cap piece gave me fits. But it all worked out and the display powered right up!

It’s huge what a great upgrade.

Looks great! Once you have the larger screen, you wonder how you dealt with the little screen for so long.

If you have a 2019 and have the coding done, does it need to be recoded if the battery is disconnected or software is updated?

If software is update you have to redo the coding. Battery disconnection shouldnt affect it.

Looking for some advice from the coders. I had one of our forum members sell me a new screen and do the coding. Unfortunately, that person (who I will not mention) decided to stop responding to me about the issue I saw with the main screen navigation image. Seems paying full price for my new screen and not giving them my old screen for free caused some issue.

The larger screen looks fine and CarPlay looks fine, but I get the navigation image skewed on that main screen. Has anyone come across this? It is fixable?

This is Normal for the ID6 cars and no way to fix it unfortunately. Navigation will not automatically go to full screen.

I don’t think anyone has figured it out

I know that going to Navigation with the menu has a scale problem that you have to move the controller to fix, but I didn't know it was the same issue at the main screen.

If I go to Navigation, then move the controller to get full screen and go back to the main menu, it's still skewed. If anybody that has done the retrofit and it is supposed to be like that, please let me know.

yup. removing both those side caps are a right PITA! they do NOT want to come off so much so that i left both of mine off for over 6 months as i wanted to make sure there were no issues with the screen and the remote starter i installed that also required me to remove those caps. Dealer would always ask me about it and i would just tell them to not worry about it. lol
