I hope it continues the current CS trend in terms of driving feel, excitement, and tangibles.
I can't explain it, but the difference in feedback between the M4/M4c vs the M4cs makes you wonder why BMW didn't maktangible qualities baked into the standard M4 since day 1, it would have eliminated complaints on steering feedback and suspension jitters/ride quality, and snap oversteer. Driving the M4cs is like turning back time, everything feels like how BMW's used to drive like. Fwiw, the M4cs is only rated 9chp more than the M4c, yet dyno's about 15rwhp/45rwtq higher. So it's possible BMW is underrating the power difference of the M5cs just a tad (yes I do understand all M5's are underrated). |

Comparing my car with a CS, major contributors to further differences are lightweight wheels, Cup tires, softer sway bars (at the rear I think) and the EDC damping. After coding all the CS settings to my car it felt better. Well I’m still rolling on those stupid heavy 666 wheels but that rear sway bar is a take it or leave it item. It increases rear traction, to match the extra poke of the CS a engine tune, but I don’t find my car traction limited. BTW you can apply the CS settings to any M3/4 from 2016 onwards, the hardware is compatible. Evolution is normal, happened to most M generations: E30 had numerous evolutions with engine going from 2.3 to 2.5L, E36 had the 286/321 BHP engines, E46 had ZCP and CSL, E92 had the ZCP and GTS.

Indeed, but not in the M cars, he is right. Z4M had hydraulic steering.

Yes, thankfully. But still the experience is there. Tuning feel for an EPS rack is not an M-exclusive job. Truthfully I think they could still do better in that department, car companies with less experience or even more mainstream cars have better steering.

Because your M5 didn't depreciate at all? I mean, seriously, why even comment on this thread at all? you've made it pretty clear to everyone that you don't like the CS. Who cares? You sound like you are full of sour grapes man.
Makes me wonder if M5 drivers who hate on the M5CS are just jealous that there is a more unique variant coming out and they don't have it. Happy New Year, John. Enjoy the M5 you have!

Maybe these numbers are underrated and it'll do better on a Dyno.

Actually it is in some way. ///M division completely redesigned the EPS for the F8X and it was their first attempt.

The lap time was done by AutoBild’s Guido Naumann, who record a very impressive 1:31.88 in the BMW M5 CS. Compare that to the previous-generation Porsche 911 GT3’s 1:32.00 and the M5 CS is only faster by a fraction of a second. In fact, it’s so close that the driver, weather conditions and tire choice/condition could all wildly change the outcome of the comparison. https://www.bmwblog.com/2020/12/20/v...n-991-911-gt3/ |

You are right about that it’s a new chapter in the M5 history and I do believe it’s going to be a pretty epic car earning its place among the best M5s. I won’t get one at $170k though. No car is worth that dough to me. Unfortunately I don’t play in the league were this level of money don’t matter. |

I have an E28, E34, E39 and F10 in my garage. Was waiting for this one. Meh. Lost me with the bronze trim. Reminds me of WRX. I’ll order an Individual car instead. Glad they made it - but not for me.
