Mismatched information from iDrive 7 to instrument cluster

The M5C is currently at the dealership and according to them, I'm the first to experience this issue (BMW has told them this).

Recently I've noticed that when I hit my M1 which is Sport Plus for Engine and transmission and Sport for steering, MDM active and 4WD Sport. The instrument cluster (IC) would only show MDM with 4WD and not 4WD Sport. I checked and confirmed that iDrive setting was 4WD Sport, but the IC would not reflect that. I thought I was crazy and imagined ever seeing sport listed there, but I found pictures to prove me right. It should show Sport or 2WD. Even if I turn off DSC and set it to 2WD the IC still shows 4WD. It won't change! Anyone else or am I really the first on this? LOL

Just to be clear, are you pushing M1 twice? Because it's going into MDM, it asks for confirmation. Probably not the issue, but just making sure, so it can be ruled out.

Yes pushing it twice. Here is their write up and confirmed it's a software issue.

Do you have a 2020 or a 2021? My 2020 has the same issue as of a day or two ago but I’m unsure if it’s after or before the software update performed last week.

2020 here and I can clearly remember this working fine before the software update. Along with this and the muted exhaust, I recommend holding off from requesting the update for anyone that hasn't done it yet.
