Very nice and enjoy! Im really liking the new rear lights and will get these retro fitted soon. They look really nice and dark against the white...….a nice step up!

Was driving by local dealer and saw one in Tanzanite Blue. Snapped a couple of pics to share... No surprises in person, it looks like the pre-lci, just different lights. Wish BMW made the front bumper a bit more aggressive, something similar to the M8. Oh well...

I'm not exactly sure why BMW sends the cars without the covers installed, but all of our new cars show up that way. They get put on during the PDI. And they usually are just in the trunk.

Maybe to help secure during transport on the ship??

I keep staring at pics of the LCI models. I really like the rear, but I am not a fan of the front whatsoever.

That being said, has anyone else noticed that the remote radiators are less protected in the 2021 model? It looks to me that the black grille on either side of the remote radiators is no longer there.

maybe it's because they are being built after the law change here in USA?

looking on autotrader at a bunch of the LCIs coming in... I think the lci laser lights look really good but the "standard" lights make the front end a bit blah.

I know the Porsche guys are talking about new headlight regulations starting in Oct. I wonder if BMW is pushing the laser lights for approvals as well.

Same here. Like the rear a lot more than the front. The front looks bland and less aggressive than the prior model. Both ends look more like the other BMW sedans now and less uniquely M5.

After looking at several on Autotrader, I think the LCI now looks better esp w/ the headlights.

That said, I’m not opposed to a ‘20 for the right deal.

I read on the 5 series LCI unveiling thread that the reason the 5 series LCI laser headlights are not USA legal is that the laser component functions both on the low beam and high beam. However it works, and I don't pretend to understand it - that's not USA DOT legal.

By contrast, the 3 series, 8 series, and X5/X6/X7 laser headlights were designed to only function on the high beam (low beam is still regular LED) which is USA DOT legal.

Actually, I was wrong about the above. Here is the exact reason the laser headlight in the 8 series (and by inference the 3 series/X5/X6/X7) are USA DOT legal but the laser headlight in the 5 series is not:

"US market M8: the Laser SHB (Supplementary High Beam) is incorporated together with the LED High Beam, and does not add to the total number of light emitting devices. By definition under FMVSS 108, these combination headlamps do not exceed the permissible maximum of 2 forward light emitting devices per side.

On the G30/F90 LCI, it's an independent multi-function dynamic lighting module in addition to the two LED projectors, making a total of 3 forward light emitting devices per side and thus, non-compliant."

Just let me know when the LCI taillights are available for conversion to the 2020 M5C. That's the only nice upgrade I see.

I've noticed the VW Atlas and GTI with the same headlights as the LCI M5. Not to mention a few Jaguars... Go ahead now and convince yourself that doesn't bother you - in the dark, you look like a VW Atlas / GTI or Jaguar...

Huge upgrade for me, personally. They literally DESTROY my previous M4's visibility capability. Especially when I am in the country and there is literally no street lamps illuminating the road. It's like it all of a sudden becomes day

It sucks that Laserlights are approved on the 1,2,3,4,6,7, and 8 series as well as the X1-8 but not approved on the 5 series here in America....

During transport on the ship the cars are tied down using the tow hooks. They should be in your glove compartment if the dealer didn't put them back on
