Pic of 9500ci control/display

This guy didn't want the mirror display install, so we made a lens for the dash:

Display invisible until illuminated. Bezel looks less glossy than the picture shows. We used our standard stealth install of the mute switch in the fog light switch location and two red LED indicators in the turn signal locations in the dash.

We have a video of the system powering up that I can post later.

Probably the best implementation I've seen of that system yet. How did you mount the laser shifters? Is there any way to make it not so noticeable without affecting the shifter's performance?

N-I-C-E! Top notch work you did there.

What kind of material do you use for the "lens", if you don't mind me asking?

Cheers.

Thanks 808MGuy! The shifters are mounted under the lip of the bumper at the top of the center grill. Essentially "flanking" the front LP. Or where the LP *should* be. This is the ideal location for performance. Alternatively, they could be mounted in the outer intakes, and recessed further back, but you would definitely be sacrificing performance for aesthetics.

Just a matter of personal preference.

Ersin - thanks for the compliment. The "lens" is actually two layers of "smoked" plexiglass.

Yes...yes I do.

Here are some more pics.

Front shifters, special consideration was given to the mounting location for optimal performance.

Full dash shot

module and wiring. All wiring was trimmed and re-terminated to avoid a bundle of wires under the dash. Then everything was dressed in tech-flex.

Back of the instrument cluster after turn-signal mod. The turn signal arrows flash red when you are hit. Just in case you're rockin out and can't hear the audio, this should get your attention.

USB port for updating. Located under-dash next to MOST-bus Diag plug. The cable was shortened for a quick disconnect when removing under-dash panel.

Hi, I live in Seattle and would travel for this quality of work. Can you post here or PM me the cost of such install? I assume this is 9500ci, so I guess install PLUS 9500ci.

I will be driving the car back from LA to Seattle later this year and would not mind stopping on the way here to get this done.

This is my M3, and I can attest that Tom does EXCELLENT work on his installations (it's my second one he has done). I can further attest that these systems REALLY do work. I was hit by laser a day or two after I picked up my car following the installation. Let me assure you, I was *not* doing the speed limit and just got an unfriendly look by the cop but no ticket. :-)

Just emailed Tom and asked him to schedule me in to his first available slot for an install. May I ask why you didn't want the mirror install? Are you happy with the location of the display? My guess is yes, looks sick.

Ken - you need to fly out here and hook me up! I need soemthing that will pick up speed camera bands. a whopping 16kph over the limit (116 in a 100) in Switzerland is gonna cost me 130 Euro. I hate Europe.

Time flies when you're having fun. MusicarNW installed my 9500ci in mid November. I'd meant to post how great of a job they did several weeks ago after living with it for a bit. Time got away from me but now I have to say the install is top notch! I am sure it saved me once at least. I received an alarm while doing around 80mph, slowed down and moved over but no cop. Cars started passing me and then there he was, coming off the ramp and pulled over the car that was behind me when I moved over. I was beginning to think it was a false alarm since I drove almost 2 miles before the ramp he was on. Anyway, I highly recommend the 9500ci and if you are in the Portland, OR area, MusicarNW is AWESOME!

I am also interested in a similar install. E93, I'm doing ED in March and I'm from Seattle but picking up the car in Salem when it arrives in the US, I would definitely stop by Portland for an install like this. Could you PM me a quote please?
