Possible play in drivetrain
Dear friends,
I noticed a strange noise at low speeds at the point when you accelerate after having been in deceleration mode. E.g. in stop and go mode. It sounds like a mechanical "clong" as if there was some play somewhere in the drivetrain. I haven't noticed that in this or any other M5. Which does not mean that it was there before….My 650iX doesn't show this behavior. Has anyone else noticed something like this?

Problem located. There is little play at the end of the propshaft. There is a service bulletin and the shaft will be glued in with loctite.

jensputzier did you also experience rear wheel hop when accelerating or spinning the tyres in RWD?
I’m thinking my M5C might need rear axle mounts or subframe bushings... |
