Coolant warning light
Over the last couple of days the coolant low warning light has come on my 2018 M5 Comp. It doesn't happen everytime I switch car on. Is this a common glitch? I have checked small tank and its fine. The large tank I can't get the cap off ! Is it best to top up if necessary with BMW product or any one that can be used with a BMW? Looking online it seems to be a common problem. Any thoughts? Thanks

I have the same issue today, guess it's better to fill up. but dont know what brand of coolant should put in. I will bring it to service tomorrow.

Sorted
I went to my local BMW dealership last Monday . They said that it is a common problem that it can be nearly impossible to unscrew the caps on the coolant tanks. They had a look and managed to undo stuck cap and checked fluid level which was ok. The warning light coming on intermittently is a mystery

I've also had this exact issue this morning (for the first time in my ownership of the car). Popped into the dealer and bought a bottle of anti-freeze (BMW stuff is only 12 quid) on the way to work and will have a look at the level later.
Bit strange it's happening to us all at the same time. |

Checked mine out after work. Warning light hasnt come back but the coolant in the main reservoir was below minimum (the level under the smaller cap was fine). Poured in exactly 600ml (1:1 coolant mix and water as per BMW instructions on the coolant bottle) and that took it back up to Max.
