Winter or all season tires?

This will be my first winter with the M5. It will be driven in the cold, but not likely in the snow unless I get caught out somewhere. I have a Grand Cherokee for snow days. Would you recommend winter or all season tires? Stock size or is another size recommended? Particular brand/model? Thank you
