The intake seems to be either breaking in somehow or the car is continually adapting because not only is it louder on spool up now the boost seems to be coming on even quicker then when I first installed it. Love this setup!

I wish it would be possible to say how much of this improvement is coming from the inlets or the intake side of it. Seems like most are just doing inlets alone on the stock air box with BMC and maybe air scoops as well. I wonder if the benefits over time would be similar or far off from yours with the full intake setup.

I feel like the complete kit gave it a good boost in sound and power than with the inlets alone. It amplified it and now I always know I'm running a complete intake system, much more enjoyable to me. Just feels more robust and much better sound and the aesthetics are simply breathtaking but we know that already.

For those of you who have had this installed, does your hood close the same. Does it clear everything. My hood is way tighter and seems to be binding somewhere. It closes but not like it used to.

thanks

The intake is continuing to be a great mod and it really does add to the driving experience. The reason for adding this little update is because I have noticed some changes since it was first installed. I think because of the substantial increase in air volume and the much clearer path the incoming air has vs stock or BMC drop ins the boost comes on so fast and so strong it really is explosive both in power and sound You can also really hear the awesome sound of the intake when accelerating and it's considerably more pronounced now than immediately after the install.
The intake really seems to be either breaking in somehow or the car is continually adapting because not only is it a lot louder on spool up now the boost seems to be coming on even quicker then when I first installed it and the sound is now impossible to miss and people have told me they can hear it from down the road. It's intoxicating , love this setup!

I've never really been into intakes much throughout most of the BMW's I've had in the past. To me they just seemed unnecessary, every time I tried one it either caused some drivability issue, lost some low end punch, sucked in very hot engine bay air and some were just sort of obnoxious in one way or another. I just always ran BMC drop ins and it was always enough.

I've had a lot of experience with DINAN and honestly think they make a phenomenal product. From exhausts, to suspension products, to intakes, etc, they are just a solid company all together so what initially intrigued me this time was the release of their TURBO INLET's for the F90 M5. Great look, great price, solid build quality and actually was a real upgrade to the oem inlets. So I ordered them as soon as they were released in case they sold out of stock. Most affordable good mods sell out quick, they came in very quickly and the install was easy. Just watch out for the clamps that get really close to the inlet, might have to loosen and move them over just a bit as to not scratch the beautiful carbon fiber inlets. You'll know what I mean when you install them.

I was really taken back by the fact it was actually a pretty noticeable improvement in throttle response and more-so the way boost came on was so much smoother and quicker. I was very impressed for such an inexpensive mod but it got me thinking the intake and inlets together would be a great mod and would give the whole package…looks, sound, and better turbo boost/power. It's also nice that on top of that the turbos being a bit less stressed is always a good thing when your dealing with this much boost. I just think they were both designed as a whole system to work together to get the full results that DINAN intended.

It was definitely worth it and the install was a breeze as everything fit PERFECTLY. I love the way the boost feels now as it seems like it gives much quicker and smoother power and it comes on almost immediately. The sound is just right too, not over the top or too quiet, you can clearly hear the intake now on full throttle. The intake took what the turbo inlets already did to another level as far as noticeably better throttle response and smoother, much quicker boost. I'm extremely happy with the final outcome and highly recommend if possible biting the bullet and getting the whole system done, it really is a very satisfying mod and the sound is a really nice touch. Another thing I noticed was the rpm band feels a lot more eager to wind out and hold power to redline in each gear, nice little bump in power too. Like I said earlier, very taken back by the noticeable improvements the full system has given, I guess I just thought it would just be better sound and looks only but I was happily wrong.

Another thing I was very impressed with was the quality you get with dinan from start to finish. Incredible packaging for shipping , great and very thorough instructions, and the mod itself is of very high quality so this is one of the reasons I like using DINANs products, I feel they give the best oem+ design with their products that I always look for and demand in any of my mods. Everything just fit perfectly and came with great hardware as well, you can tell they took their time developing it.

Anyway, enough ranting I just wanted to give my two cents on this complete system. I'm very pleased with it and highly recommend it. I'll attach some pics of the installed product. I will be in and out so if there are any questions I'll get back to you for sure just might or might not be right away. Thanks for reading!
FotiosF90M5

P.S. No I do not work for dinan, I unfortunately had to pay for it lol, it's just when I find a solid upgrade and company I like expressing that so other people are aware of it and I simply enjoy reviewing products for my BMW's. Be safe out there with these monster sedans
Great review and agree with everything 110%. Had mine installed last week and i love it.

Correct. All inlet backorders were cleared on the 7th/8th and all the remaining intake backorders are shipping today. First time since release we are caught up with both of these SKUs. Feels good, although it won't last long I am sure.

I'd love to be able to compare IAT between this and eventuri. Typically I have been seeing about 10 deg above outside temp listed in the iDrive.

I tried ordering through a vendor and was told today the part is out of stock again. Those went fast. I’ll get a set eventually. They are a want not a need.

Only the turbo inlets are available for the M8, which is a shame. I chose the Eventuri system, which extends to the inlets with a scoop in front of the rad, but not a truly closed system.

When are you actually shipping again? I've been waiting on the inlets and resonator delete for a while.
