Heard that here in the UK back in May and not had a chance to make a few calls and will leave it for a few weeks. Let me know if you hear anything.

Here is a guide how to avoid any errors or blinking after start:

1) Update software to 03-2021
2) Add HELC to HO-WORT
3) Code BDC module
4) Make some changes manually (bimmercode can do this too):

BL_L_CCM: ccm_346 [01 5A]
BL_L_IS_LED: nicht_aktiv, default [00]
BL_L_MIN_PWM: 5% [05]
BL_L_WARMUEBERWACHUNG: nicht_aktiv [00]
BL_R_CCM: ccm_345 [01 59]
BL_R_IS_LED: nicht_aktiv, default [00]
BL_R_MIN_PWM: 5% [05]
BL_R_WARMUEBERWACHUNG: nicht_aktiv [00]

That is it!

I asked the local authorised dealer about the retrofit. They ordered the kit and installation is booked for week 27.

The price they are asking is decent, because if there would be any problems later on they can't say that I've made some diy tuning that is not official. And when the time comes to sell the car I'm sure the next guy will appreciate the official upgrade.

Let us know how you get on and if you get the fault codes on start up. Thanks

How much are the parts/labor? Roughly, if you don't want to give the exact number.

Unfortunately, they do not (yet). Probably never will.

Parts are ~1100 EUR (e.g. Original Autoparts sells these for ~920 EUR).
Labor is ~500 EUR (I have old i-step so I would need to pay 200 EUR just for the i-step update)

From my point of view the difference is ~200 EUR in parts and ~300 EUR in labor. No risk and no hazzle

This look amazing and it doesn't seem that bad to change it. Before checking it out it seems overwhelming but not too bad. Thanks for the detailed instructions.

Anyone had the software update done?

Also curious if we can work around this without the update. Someone posted this coding using March 2021 software:

Here is a guide how to avoid any errors or blinking after start:

1) Update software to 03-2021
2) Add HELC to HO-WORT
3) Code BDC module
4) Make some changes manually (bimmercode can do this too):

BL_L_CCM: ccm_346 [01 5A]
BL_L_IS_LED: nicht_aktiv, default [00]
BL_L_MIN_PWM: 5% [05]
BL_L_WARMUEBERWACHUNG: nicht_aktiv [00]
BL_R_CCM: ccm_345 [01 59]
BL_R_IS_LED: nicht_aktiv, default [00]
BL_R_MIN_PWM: 5% [05]
BL_R_WARMUEBERWACHUNG: nicht_aktiv [00]

That is it!
