Suspension Shipping Stabilizers

I took my car into my preferred BMW independent shop for maintenance and some modifications. He was taking a close look under the car for any abnormalities that might cause issues later. He found these shipping stabilizers still installed in my car (bought it in March of 2019). He removed them, see pics, and asked me if I ever had any complaints of the car's ride. I told him that it was always unusually stiff all the time even in Comfort mode. Unbelievable. I am going to take these back to the dealership and see what they tell me about this. They are placed in the springs/shocks.

Too many stories like this and I get paranoid over this now.

This is the reason that I don't take my car in, though free, for oil changes and normal maintenance stuff. I have had an E60, an F10 and now my F90 from this dealer and learned a few hard lessons.

So you were driving with them for almost 2 years?? That's wild.

How is the ride now after they have been removed? Car should also sit lower

Car does sit lower and the ride is much, much better. I have taken it over a route that I take that has stretches of uneven paving as a test and it no longer forces me to slow down.

That's crazy!

Does anyone have a photo of these on the car so we can check to see if ours were left on?

I went to the dealership yesterday and spoke to the Service Manager and the GM and laid everything out. The GM immediately knew what they were and what a problem they would cause. He apologized profusely and asked if there was anything that would fix this. A Sales Manager suggested that perhaps a 2021 M at a great price. GM said they might consider a new one at a once in a lifetime great price. I let them know that I would think about it..
