So I just had my 1200 mile service today! Before the service my sport display would never go above 560hp and 480tq.. today after the service I goosed it on the highway and and every time it would go beyond 600hp 520tq no problem! My butt dyno definitely also tells me there is something there too.. I video both before and after pulls on the highway and empty roads a number of times and I can definitely hear the engine revs climb at a faster rate than they did before the service! I had also checked the Density altitude of the weather before and after, and today actually had a higher DA by 400 so it should actually be making less horsepower today than before the service! First picture of the sport display is before service.....Second picture is from today right after the service

While we don't have definitive proof on this, we do have before and after photos of the technology in motion gauges with different HP and TQ readings. I believe the preponderance of the evidence weighs in favor of getting a little more power after break in.

I have just got around to doing the same post running-in service and, other than the date of the dumps in the FA and SVT, all files are identical to the ones dumped before the running-in service. Make from this what you want, but IMHO, it proves that nothing is "unlocked" at the running-in service. |

I felt zero difference before and after.
I also thought that that service doc suggested that Launch Control was available from the factory? I didn't test, but the doc posted here says that it is enabled. |

What silencer are they referring to? At 3,500 miles now, I noticed the exhaust has been getting louder w/ more gurgling / cracking, but I attribute that to usage. Why you have an M5 living in the city, do you drive out often? I had a M3 back in the day, but had an opposite commute to Westchester, so I would rip it up North every day. Also getaways on the weekend, which i'm assuming you must be doing. |

I think that Launch Control is available at mile 0 on Competition and after service on the base model.

It almost seemed like pushing past 5k rpms was a uphill battle before service and after it was butter. The exhaust also is getting louder so yes that could be usage. Especially with cold start delete. All I know is the service advisor used the words "limiter" "run in mode" etc... |

Strange on the 5k, but at least you are good now! What's your color? Not many in the city and I've only seen a white one so far and I think maybe a blue... |

Run in service both differentials oil change? Transmission to?
If you have an X-drive BMW, like the M5 F90 competition for exemple: at 1200 miles or 2000km, do you change the transmission fluid or only if it's a manual m car?
Also which differential fluid they charge on the run in service the rear axle or the rear axle or both rear and front axles during 1200 mil run in service?
