lol for a CS model to get barely half a second faster than the standard car is pretty pathetic to be honest, especially considering it is likely solely due to the Corsa tires.

Normally, I would say that a CS model is about sustained performance. Okay, so there's a half second difference on one lap, what about 10 laps, 15? What about a 30 minute session? I'm hoping the extra stuff added to the CS makes it a car that you can take to the track and enjoy for the day without having issues.

Wouldn't it make more sense if they were running the same tire?

M8CS with real weight reduction would make a lot more sense than this car, though I guess in the end M8is a GT even with weight reduction it can't fight someone like 911 Turbo S, so better not even do a CS to get into a segment it doesn't want to compete?

We've 2 F90 M5 in our local track club, and a few older gen M5s too .

The real issue may be that the stock M5 is so good that it's hard to improve upon.

It's got CCB, these are not renowned for long track use.

This car is a joke at the numbers stated 8 more hp WOW sign me up lol. 150 pound savings WOW sign me up lol. Same FP 553 very impressive. My dealer says 20-30k above 21 m5comp. For what

Hopefully BMW these numbers are not accurate.

I don’t care that some people take this 4000+ Pound Pig, 4dr sedan to the track. This car is not a track car, will never break any records and was never intended to be a track car.

Want a track car go buy a Porsche GT car or the new Amg GTBS that just broke track records.

Who tracks a 4k+ lbs AWD sedan?

Literally Ringtaxi is dead.

I don't see the market they're going for with this thing but I'm sure there will be some people who would love to DD an M5 with buckets lol.

This is one of the best truths that I have seen on this board. When I picked up my 2019 M5 Comp via Euro delivery I remember asking the representative, how can they possibly make this car any better. He did not have an answer. I will wait for the press release on the M5 CS before I pass judgment.

So have you got track experience with CCBs? My F80 has CCBs, and it t is used regularly on the track.

All of the cars at the Performance Driving School have CCBs. I had no issues at all when I did the 2 Day Advanced M program.

Man, as long as you have the budget for them, CCBs work wonders on a track.

This is a preproduction model. This time is just a tease from BMW M. The production model will be faster.
Just check the timing for M2CS registered also by Sportauto. The preproduction was slower than the released model.
