We offer the RC

It uses additive maps, meaning it will take the stock boost and add to it.

Not sure how someone can claim they don't notice it

As I said, maybe it’s the way it delivers extra power, I don’t know but it doesn’t feel substantially faster. A little yes, but not that instant wow feeling I was hoping for. Bear in mind that in the UK with the emissions control I think we have to use the 6d-temp version which doesnt increase power as much as the standard one, I think 82hp vs 115hp or something.

I mentioned that I thought you had a surprising take on the RC. Just realized you do not have a U.S./NA spec car. Makes a little more sense now.

So after being on the fence for awhile, I took the plunge and purchased a RC. The install was pretty easy once I figured out how to unfasten the clips on the leads. Have only driven the car a small amount, but even with that, I can definitely feel a difference in pull on Map 7. Looking forward to seeing how much better this gets with time. Thanks r33_RGSport for such a good deal on the price!

I took mine off for a bmw service the other day, and the car was disappointing under full throttle on the highway. I was surprised at the difference, I haven't taken it off for a year. I guess you can still get spoiled with 600 hp 😂

Same exact thing happened to me on Monday. I've gotten to the point where I usually pull over a little before the dealership and pull it out now, as opposed to doing it at home before I leave so I don't have to experience 30-ish minutes without it. I didn't have the time to do that this time, so did it prior to leaving. This may sound crazy to some, but the car was nowhere near as fun without it.

Agree - whenever I had to take mine off on my old M5 the drive would be rather "boring"

Sorry to hijack the thread, but anyone here with a JB4 on an LCI Comp? I fitted mine a few months ago, and it doesn't have any of the visceral feeling everyone here is describing with the RC. I'm running Map 2 on 98 pump Ron and logging shows that every so often the boost goes above 25 psi but most of the time even pedal down it's within standard comp parameters. Would love to know what actual boost people are getting with a JB4 / RC.

Can we use map 7 with 91 octane or is it safer to stick with E25 or E30?

Yes, I run it with 91, as I don’t have 93. I asked racechip germany and they said it’s fine, the car still operates within factory parameters and limits.

You can run it, but I'm unsure how the car would handle it.

The DME decreases ignition timing if the map is too aggressive; that's how it protects your engine. I would not be uncomfortable running my car with too much boost and relying on the DME to help me when needed.

Unless your tuner can datalog and check how the car handles the extra power, I never recommend using the most aggressive setting.

It's just not worth it in my opinion.

Thanks. I'll run whatever map is a step down then unless I'm on an E mix
