The 7 years cycle for new car and LCI is too long nowadays They need to reduce that to maybe 3 years then 2 years LCI Compared to others, this car is showing its age :

Looks MUCH better! Now if only they would address these spartan interiors for these flagship models... No way should they mimic a regular 5.

When has an M car delivered more than a smattering of detail upgrades vs its non-M counterpart though? Sport seats, meatier steering wheel, different gear selector, and some better materials. That's the formula, short of weight saving changes for CS models, which would be pointless on a luxury sedan.

Agreed, I'm not sure how I feel about those headlights yet, but they did a good job of making some subtle changes to the front bumper that seem more aggressive along with blending it in more with newer GXX cars so people don't thinking about waiting for the next gen as much.
Seeing this difference almost starts to make me see why they went with F90 for the M5 originally, that pre-LCI shot isn't too far off from an F80.

How are you right!
Only during a pandemic, the designer can come to mind such nostrils.

I like it a lot. Puts the original plan of holding out for a 19-20 MY deal on hold. Nice improvement with a "serious" looking. Always loved the M5 and all the facelifts. I hope BMW doesn't butcher this icon in years to come like they have w the 3/4 series

I thought there would have been a bigger difference. The style is conservative considering the other recent grill updates - thinking 7 series, X5, 4 series... but I guess this is just a lifecycle update.

honestly everything about the 5 is "conservative"...i wish the M5 design (specifically the competition models) resembled a bit more sportiness like the F80 design. I would love to see a blend of F90 performance and F80 styling. Plust that new CS hood looks weird to me. The bump is too far forward IMO. Would buy an F80 if the interior wasn't so basic
