Finding service history?
I'm looking at a 2020 M5C, under 30k miles. Being sold by a reputable dealership and after viewing the car it looks pretty clean, however the carfax has no service history whatsoever. I tried calling the dealership that sold the car initially to see if they could tell me whether the car was ever serviced there, but they refused to disclose anything.
Anyone know of a way to gather this info? I'm skeptical purchasing without knowing the background. |

If you pay $30 for a 24 hour pass to the the official BMW TIS it will list the service history if you specify a VIN:

It's been a few months since I did it. It wasn't intuitive and I can't see the interface right now because I don't have access. If you look around for "TIS" or service info it will get you to the right place. Sorry I can't be more helpful. When you do find the right place, you can also download the BMW dealer technical guides that are frequently posted on this forum, and the service procedures for any work you might plan to do on the car.

I just purchased a 2020 M5C last month, and it was being sold at a BMW dealership. They provided me with a "Warranty Vehicle Inquiry" before I decided to buy it. It contains all sorts of data including options, maintenance history and warranty coverages. I also received this printout previously when servicing a X5 I bought at a non-BMW dealership. It will likely need to be a BMW dealer that provides the info - I would think that you can get it for sure if you are the registered owner.

To Op,
Are you purchasing this car at a BMW dealership?

I signed up this weekend to try ISTA with my new dongle. ISTA wouldn't start so in theory tech support will get back to me and they refunded the subscription.
To answer the question on how to get to the useful part: AOS->Repair Manuals and Diagrams (AIR). Then click on "start". Enter the VIN in search. Scroll to the bottom of the resulting page for the car Expand "Vehicle Histories" |
