Track/Race Pads

I've done some searching here on the forum for a Race/Track Pad for Sport Suspension Brakes but haven't seen many options... The PAGID RS-19 Yellow Race Pads look Nice but I don't want to spend $700 or so on pads.
Any other suggestions for a decent track pad???

My E93 is heavy and far from the ideal track car but I enjoy taking it out every now & then. I also have Motul 600 Brake fluid & Drilled & Slotted Sport Rotors.

The yellows are supposed to have great wear ratings for the track. I'm thinking of picking up a set on the M. Cost is also holding me back at the moment.

Try Carbotech or Hawk pads. Are these for street+track, or for the track only? I know carbotech has 3 or 4 different compounds, depending on what you are doing with the car. Call them up and they should be able to tell you which compounds you would need. I remember talking to someone named Larry at Carbotech who was very helpful, and set me up with a set of pads for my track car which worked great.

And the price was much less than what you were quoted for the pagids

I just switched to EBC Yellowstuffs, which are available for the fronts and rears for a little over $200 total if I remember correctly. They are made for track/street use. I have four track days on them already and am very happy so far.

Other options if you really like a certain compound, but don't see a listing for your vehicle anyplace is the following. I haven't had to do it yet, but ALMOST did one time.

Some of the bigger places, Carbotech, Porterfield, etc, if they do not have your application listed, you can send them a Super cheepo pad, they can REMOVE the old Pad material from the Backing Plate, then apply whatever material they have.

Yes, this is Possible, as mentioned I never had it done, but was in discussion with Carbotech to do it, but they managed to find a source for backing plates. (They found them, got them, cut pad, bonded pad to plate, I had pads in my hands on Friday after ordering on Monday)

Porterfield guys are very helpful and should have most of the late model BMW pad patterns in stock, including the 335i and M3. The R4-S is a great street pad that can take a light track abuse.

Thanks Guys...just ordered the CarboTech XP-8's. It's their Carbon, Ceramic & Kevlar Track/Street Pad since I'll be driving to the track on them.

Good choice for the track. Not only do they perform extremely well, but they are very easy on those expensive rotors. Happy Motoring!

Thanks just got em in. Did you get them to cut & groove the pads for the brake wear sensors?

Just zip tie the sensor, no reason to burn $20 sensor each time.
