hahah, good!

so many people (and on this board) are totally out of touch with reality. Dealers are NOT your friends. They hate when a consumer actually knows what they are talking about. I always catch shit from people saying i nickle and dime dealers. Because for every 10 people that buy a car, i'd say less than half negotiate. So i'm going to make the dealer earn his cut, plain and simple.

Same. I love taking a car that I bought at a dealer that would deal with me to my local dealer, who is very tough to deal with, for service.

On the service side...my local dealer is a 10/10 though.

oh yea, thats always interesting. I'd love to buy a car from my local dealer 4 minutes away from me. But they never allow me to. So, my last 3 have come from all over the US. I'm at the point now where i dont even bother asking for a price anymore. And i know when someone purchases a car from them, they got nailed.

Same here, i always give my local dealers a shot first and tell them up front "may last 8 BMWs came from out of state due to pricing" and then they give me an offer showing me why they come out of state.

When i got my 328D the local dealer gave me a "best price" of $690 a month and i said my best quote was $280 even with $0 down, and they told me in email "yea right" so the first oil change there was very satisfying with that car.

Same with my M8, was quoted $900 more per month then what i ended up with

You got a 328D for $280/month with $0 down? What year?

With forums like this and leasehackr, most shoppers go into the dealership with a general idea of what they want from a deal. I'm not sure if the salespeople in the dealership understand that there are a lot more well-researched buyers now. They act surprised when they hear what type of deals are out there.

Yea, I let it drop that I knew the money factor for April, and at that point it became radio silence. Build slots seem hard to find right now, and I guess they'd rather use them on on somebody that will just say "yea, that's a great deal, I love paying $500 extra a month" with whatever they're given.

yeah once they hear you mention "money factor" or "cap cost" they know they aren't dealing with a dummy.

Hell, asked for a quote using those terms once, and the dealer replied

"are you a dealer?"

Every time i ask for detailed paperwork including MF, RV, etc. they come back with a sheet that literally just says with XXX down payment, the monthly would be XXX.

All 5 series including M5 are seeing major slowdowns in production because of the chip shortage. There are so few out there and the M5 at a discount is pretty much a no-go.

2022s are starting soon as 2021 builds are now all but done.

Thanks for the update Dan. I sent you a PM about my lease expiring in a few months. Looks like a 2022 will be my only option at this point

When would I be able to put in an order for a 2022 m5c custom and what do you think I'd be able to get off msrp (139k) looking to pretty much get this done asap, and if you could help that would be awesome!

I think there's so much pent up demand at this point, there are gonna be zero discounts. Hell, there may end up even being a markup. I don't know if he keeps a running list, but I've asked to be put on it. I'm probably a long way down.

I just couldn't pull the trigger on the M5 CS. To me, they just really hamstrung themselves with the limited color options. The grey just does not go with those wheels, and I don't like green. The exhaust is also anemic, especially compared to the MPE upgrade for the Competition. I feel like they really missed an opportunity to make it truly special.

Once the first batch of 2022 M5 allocations are released, I should have a good grasp on discount, if any.

If it's a limited number because of the parts shortages, then I expect MSRP or close to it.

Serious pent up demand as we saw a gap in production for about 3-4 months

QUICK FYI

If you are returning a lease, check the trade in value on carvana or vroom to make sure you aren't leaving money on the table.

Not so much BMW lease returns, but a lot of other makes, I'm seeing a few grand in equity at lease end.

I mentioned to a customer recently on a 2018 Audi A4 lease...$8k in equity so he sold it to the dealer and took a check back when picking up his bimmer!

INSANE MARKET...TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE!

I picked up my 21 M5C Friday. Was returning my AMG to MB when I was tipped off about this. Headed to CarMax and sold to them for 76K and avoided the lease end fee. My Residual was about 68500. Made about 8k!

Yes. What a great business. Easy, fast, professional, clean, etc. Literally in an out. They called MB and got the payoff. Then cut me a check, no tax, for the surplus.
