BMW still includes maintenance, curious what your dealer told you. GLWS

Apparently BMW no longer offers the free oil and filter change, brake pads, etc. You only get one oil change for free. So I ended up paying close to $900 in 3-year maintenance.
I will call BMWNA and inquire about it now that you mentioned it. Thanks! |

1. Lower it to 3 years from 4 2. No long replace wear parts (brake pads and wiper blades) 3. Make it non-transferable unless you purchase your used car from a BMW dealer So I suspect they talked you into this https://bmwusaservice.com/ultimatecare Which most people don't need unless they drive a ton of miles or are really hard on their brakes. You owe me dinner if you get your money back

You are right Doug; that's exactly what I purchased. Well worth it I think if I were to keep the car.

I would argue that if a dealer said "maintenance is no longer included, you should give me $900" and that is a lie, then he could get the money back

I just did the same when I took over the lease for X6m and in the documents is saying clearly its transferable to the next "owner"; in my case it was $700...and the bill for changing oil, filters, battery was about $600...so no brainer

and... I'm not aware of too many BMWs requiring brakes in the first 36,000 miles. I'm sure it is possible, however I think the $600 wear item coverage is subject to normal wear and tear (meaning they find out you are tracking it, and it is not covered). I will say this - our Mini (which has a similar warranty to BMW) had a bad brake shudder and BMW did change out the rotors and pads (as a one time goodwill gesture).
