I talked with John last night and think I am going to get an order placed today or tomorrow. His pricing for a 20” wheel with discount is decent. I was going to order 863m wheels from BMW but this design is similar and lighter.

Keep us posted on your renderings/design. Going with the brushed finish? What specs did you go with?

Did you end up picking out a style and ordering?

As much as I like to be unique, I will probably end up with your design in brushed.

Did you get your wheels yet? I’m interested to see what they look like mounted.

There was a delay at the port. I should have them by end of this week or next, and will then have them mounted. Will post pix right away to show you how they came out on our chassis.

I think the brushed look will look really good!

I'm waiting on mine. Cheaper and hopefully a lot faster than waiting on Titan 7s.

Please post pics when you get yours. So are these mfg overseas and shipped once built on a per set basis? I figured with a 3-4 week lead time they were being made in SoCal.

MFG overseas, but very quick turnaround time, due to quick designing. Owner goes back and forth with client (me) and dials in the full spec within an hour of first discussion.

Yes, the R101 satin black.
Front 20x10 ET22
Rear 20x10.5 ET30

I also opted for the motor sport knurling and 56mm bmw centercaps.

I'm hoping to fit Continental 295/35r20 and 305/35r20 tires.

Some guy had that tire size setup with some titan wheels and he lowered it with the Eibach pro kit: E10-20-041-01-22

And I thought it looked really good.

I'll see if I can find a picture.

I am considering these sizes but am not sure they are the best performance choice. The 305/35/20 effectively lengthens the final drive from 3.15 to 3.09, which means less torque multiplication. And you are adding only 1/2” to the wheel widths so going 20mm or 3/4” wider on the tire means the wheel is more undersized for the tire and that can mean more sidewall flex or rollover or jiggle.

My summer tires have another year of wear so I have time to read and think before buying. The 275/285 stock sizes appear a little stretched on 20x10/11 wheels so I will definitely be going wider. It’s just a question of 285/295 or 295/305.

The little ridges or cuts in the wheel. It is supposed to give the tire something to grab onto to prevent the tire slipping on the wheel. Probably pure overkill in this application.

I think 285/295 is the safer option. I only did it because I wanted to copy that guys setup and go with a new tire/different brand. I've already got the tires, hopefully everything works out and I don't have any issues. I'd lose a bunch of money if I have to change this setup.

From what I have read, 295 fronts rub but only at near full lock. Have read only one report of rear rubbing with 305s on a lowered car, but I don’t know what wheel offset he used or the tire brand. They will definitely look meaty, but for pure looks, I would probably go 285/305.

I'm not worried about the rub at full lock as much as I am going 75 mph and hitting a big dip in the road and then rubbing or worse... Have you heard anything like that?

Just the one report and that person said he had to adjust camber and still had some problems with rubbing in the rear. The same size tire can be wider or narrower depending on brand and model so maybe he was using a 305 tire that runs wide. But the several other reports I have read said no issues with 305 rear tires.

Do you think you could get away running a square 285 setup on this fitment? I’m looking at available tires for track use and it’s a pain to find something staggered.

I believe you could. 10mm is miniscule in the grand scheme of things. It will have a meatier look, but that is never a bad thing! Considering the factory M5 comp comes with 275/285 staggered.
