2019 M5 when stopped in drive
Hi guys my car has always after fully warmed up when stopping at a light in drive foot on brake feels like it goes in to neutral very very smooth you would never know I am thinking bmw does this to help with trans Temps? The only thing i don't like if you come of brake to gas really quickly you can tell trans was resting in neutral. Of course as soon as you let foot of brake and zero gas super smooth back in drive you can not even tell. Anyone else notice this?
Thanks Matt

Yea this is very obvious in my 23.
Also. Do you notice that after pressing the park button if you are quick to take your foot off the brakes that the car will leap forward an inch or two. Pretty unnerving.

That makes sense. I assumed it was just an automatic being and automatic. I'm still having to get used to it after 20 years of a manual.
I really like this transmission. It feels like a manual most of the time. And I love the way it shifts in S3 at WOT. |

Yes the transmission is just incredible and love it just not what I described. What till you feel the shifts when in launch mode it's just insane awesome! (If you have not yet)

The zf8 may be more tailored to the luxury so many want in the m5. However. The dct in my opinion helped set m cars apart from regular bmws and gave the car that extra bit of character.

From what I heard from talking to some execs they purposely programmed it that way to make it feel more like a manual or dct. For reference other 8hp cars don't do this (think dodge)
