I'm running 5w50 (rowe, not redline), and have been for about 3500 miles (maybe longer). I haven't seen a change in performance, but to be honest have not been watching temps closely. I just procured a 90 degree thermostat and some redline water wetter for use in engine coolant loop and charge cooler loop, as we've probably both seen on insta. Also going to install this wmi kit at some point...my hope is that this combo will help me battle the summer heat a bit better, performance wise. Will take a closer look all of the temps...

Easiest way to tell if something works, log before and after to see if coolant/oil temp are lower at Full Load

You guys are aware that the car has an electronic thermostat as well as an electronic water pump flow controller.

What i'm trying to say is that this "thermostat" snake oil some people sell is pointless.

You can also see how efficient our WMI kit is, IAT tanks once system starts to ramp up.

Thanks

You might be very wrong here, 2 of us have checked so far and our coolant levels were well under the minimum by 8-12oz as the system is running too hot and boiling off the coolant. This thermostat may very well help with this. This could be a new issue for the F90 if people start checking to find low coolant levels and the car is not throwing up a warning light.

Any idea how to install it, or where the thermostat housing is?

An experienced mechanic will know, leave it to those who's been around these engines day in and day out.

I only let @mandpperformance in the Tristate touch my friends and my cars.
