Anyone DIY tire change on Rim??
Just Kidding,,,did my tractor tire....LOL Just bored.
For the second side I am getting a better pry bar, just ordered two from Mac Tools.... But after a conversation with another M5 owner, I got spooked and ordered new Michelins. He said Michelin is limiting production on some sizes. Tire Rack only had 4 of the rears and 6 of the fronts in stock. When I checked in the early spring they had plenty. (why does this friggen website rotate the images???? the last one I edited in PS to add tags, and saved as JPEG and that one was not rotated.) Mike

Hey Mike,
To my eye, that looks like a 1026 JD. Nothing compliments an M5 like a John Deere! Respect from a fellow F90 / 1026R owner. Ya, I gave up on changing out tires years ago, had the exact same thing happen to me. Brian |

Nice - backhoe attachment; every time I find myself knee deep in a drainage or trench project I kick myself for not splurging on the backhoe attachment.
My son just discovered the cutting deck control arm pin is fractured - tractor is under going surgery right now lol. First thing to break on it in over 6 years - it sure gets its share of abuse so I am not complaining. |

I have changed lots of tires in the past. Back in the good old days before children, a bunch of BMW guys used to meet at my parent's house in the NYC suburbs and work on BMW's almost every weekend. We got tired of paying people to change tires so I bought a used Hunter TC3500 from Craigslist and it came with a free old balancer. I had to upgrade the air compressor to a real one to get everything working correctly.
We had watched tons of tire changes before at different shops and we tried on an old GM 14" rim/tire and realized that we had no idea what we were doing. We went to a shop and watched again to get a clue. Over the years we got VERY good at changing tires even as the sidewalls got thinner and thinner. The old balancer that had a dial that only went up to 17" for the rim size worked perfectly on larger rims too. Unfortunately, my parent's sold the house and moved into NYC near us so the equipment is at another friend's house. I can still use it whenever but it is further away now and I have to go to soccer games, ice skating, etc. on weekends. |
