Original Sticker has "Decoding additional functions" WTF is that?

Hi everyone- new to me 2018 coming my way next week. One question that I couldn't find searching:
Original window sticker has "Decoding additional functions"... "included". Any idea what functions? It's not the Decoding for no-dazzle high beam. That's listed separately.
Thanks everyone.

my 2020 had that. I never did ask the dealer what it was for but I suspect it was related to making the idle-engine start/stop feature disabled by default. On my m550i it was enabled by default and you had to press the button every time to disable it.

thanks. Maybe it is the idle start stop. I'll have to test that. I don't think its the Active Driving Assistant-I see that listed separately on the sticker. No Individual Paint-Bluestone Metallic. Thanks again!

Not related to Auto Start-Stop. It's in combination with Active Driving Assistant Plus Package and inhibiting Lane Change Assistant.

...And it's mighty generous of them not to charge us for it.

So by "decoding" does that mean they are disabling the feature that is illegal per US DOT laws or they are enabling it (and thus knowingly selling "illegal" vehicles)?
