I suppose that’s part of the problem. However, what caused this to happen is right here “Aluminum corrosion in the charge air intercoolers, or in the radiator for the low temperature cooling is causing an unfavorable chemical reaction to the coolant. Caused overflow to cyl 3, consequential damage failure of coil and spark plug.”

cooked the coil/fouled the plug. Pay up. BTW was just kidding. Lighten up Francis. Glad they fixed it.

Mine M5 was going into limp mode after kickdowns as well (diagnostics said misfires on cylinders). Turned out, it was the same problem - corrosion on coils due to a leak of coolant... BMW under warranty replaced all coils and spark plugs. Now I did around 500 miles, tried several kickdowns and everything seems fine now ...

Do you remembered how much the dealership charged you for that?

Have they resolved this issue with a different coolant/additive requirement? It is strange to me that accelerated corrosion is happening in a car made these days. I suppose this is happening due to electrolysis.

Hello I have a f90 comp 2021 while driving today cruising in 5-6th gear going around 70-80mph and suddenly the car started to kick/jerk and the awd malfunction came on and put me in 2wd.
I slowed down and exited the freeway and the message went away but after awhile it started to jerk/kick at the same gears and speed but no malfunction code. Has anyone had this problem. Btw car is completely stock.

I take it you were driving in manual mode given the speed and gear. Did the issue occur when shifted from 5th to 6th? What was your RPM when you shifted?
