Its taken 10 months - suspension revelation

So its been 10 months since I took delivery of my M5C and I must admit that whilst loving the speed I was a little underwhelmed with the overall package, a little heavy and a bit lazy unless in Sport/Sport+ (Engine) and gearbox 2 or 3.

I live in rural England on the Kent and Sussex borders and the M5C is my daily.

Roads are a 20 mile mixture of A and B roads, so (for our US friends) they are a mix of narrow two lane and single track roads.

Since owning the car, unless I am "on it" I have kept the suspension in "comfort" owing to various pot holes and generally poor state of the roads.

This last week I have been putting the car in "sport" each morning and evening for my 20 mile commute and its transformed the car.

I was concerned that the ride would become fidgety and uncomfortable, I actually think its more comfortable now. Much more akin to my 991.2 C4S I had before this.

The car feels more planted and stable, the imperfections are felt slightly more but its almost imperceptible but there is a huge amount more feedback through the car, I absolutely love the difference and will almost certainly never change back to "comfort" again!

Has anyone else tried this and felt the same? Its like driving a whole new car and its really taken the experience to a whole other level.

My M1 is programmed for Max engine, Sport suspension, Sport steering, and D2 gearbox. M2 turns everything up a notch. I'm in M1 90% of the time, and only in Efficient on VERY bumpy roads.

These settings are perfect for me on my non-comp. model.

Glad you got yours sorted out.

I myself find it more comfortable to drive in sport suspension then comfort. Car seems to handle uneven roads etc better in sport figure that out.

Yes definitely less tramlining and it seems to cope with adverse camber better as well.

driving in and out of manhattan daily- more than comfort on my m5c is brutally hard. more so than my m3 comp.

having driven both regular and comp prior- slight regrets not picking up the regular for a bit more comfort.
sport is only for highway for me, and sport + is when i am more than certain that potholes and road imperfections are nowhere to be found.

Having seen the roads in Manhattan many times I am not surprised, I am more shocked that your wheels are not square lol!

Yep. Same. Sport is better than Comfort for me with my M5C.

My M1 is Sport Plus engine (pipes sound best in this), Sport suspension and Sport steering.

M2 takes all settings to Sport Plus.

M1 is my DD setting. M2 is hooligan setting.

All efficient/comfort for me for the first 2-3 min to warm the car up.. then M1 for my daily driving (Sport engine, D2 transmission, sport suspension, comfort steering). I use M2 for evenings and weekends and have it set to (Sport+ engine, D3 transmission, sport suspension, sport steering).

Agreed that sport is better than comfort for me on all but the worst roads.

I feel you man my F90 was harsh (over sprung) compared to the F80. I also have both. I was shocked at how rough the stock suspension is. My f80 has full KW coil overs and was wayyyy more compliant.

Fast forward with the addition of KW HAS springs on the F90; it made the car way more compliant in every mode. I would do it again every time. The F90 is a non comp.
