^ Type 789 M, but there are quite some unique options standard for this model.
In terms of performance I say that it was developed to outperform the GT 63s..
We just have to wait some numbers achieved on the most popular tracks ✌

While I have no doubt that the CS will be faster than the AMG GT63s in a straight line, I do doubt whether it will be faster on the 'ring or other tracks with lots of turns unless BMW included rear wheel steering on the CS (which I have not heard).

I was surprised that BMW did not implement rear wheel steering on the M5 in general as this feature really does improve handling and I suspect is what allows the even heavier AMG to perform better than the M5 on technical tracks even though the M5 and certainly the M5C are faster on the straights.

Time will tell.

I had the same observation - my guess is that BMW wanted to save weight, so didn't include rear wheel steering.

Markus seemed confident that the M5 CS set a lap record for 4-seaters, so I think it has comfortably beaten the AMG's record. Not sure why the company hasn't released the numbers yet - with massively-powered hybrids around the corner, it's only a matter of time before another car breaks the CS record.

I hope you are correct, but given the 13 second 'ring deficit the CS has to make up (M5C (7:36) vs. AMG GT63s (7:23)), there is a real limit to what a bit of weight loss, HP gain and track tires can accomplish.

According to our inside source the G82 M4 Comp have done a factory driver 7:28-7:29 lap and has hinted that the M5 CS is in another league compared to that time...

OP, this is the second time I've seen you. First when you picked up the CS and now on this video. I'm confused as to why the helmet is so difficult to take off? It must suck to have that on all the time. LOL

I am not familiar with the guy in the helmet. I only assume he has been around social media for several years. Has he always worn the helmet?

I'm not the person in the video... 😉

He doesn't want to show his face for privacy reasons apparently. Don't know more than that.

"BMW, what happened to the 2 tons?!?"

"As fast in the corners as a GT3 RS!"

"Not as great sounding as the pre-LCI Comp. - but it suits the car!"

He likes it! I would buy it - in matt green, though.

I assume GPFs are responsible for the loss of sound. Will North American CS's have the device? If I recall, the weight savings on US cars is more than the European version.... perhaps because they won't be installing GPFs for this market?
