New to M3

Hi to all, we will soon join your M3 club.

We placed an order for an M3 earlier this week. Moving up from an 335D. After some further family discussions we now have amended the configuration which will now be:

- M3 Competition Pack
- Black exterior
- Silverstone Interior
- Sun protection glass
- Harman speakers
- Heated rear seats
- Reversing camera

Dealer has estimated an October delivery. Now for the long wait.

very nice. harman, rear heated seats come standard .

good choice with colors, will be beautiful

Are you sure, they are standard... Not according to the configurator or BMW.... I know front heated are standard, but not rear. For sound, the premium is standard, but not Harman..

not in the UK its not standard. maybe as some sort of package?

HK is a £ 245 option (with comp pack) and rear heated seats is an optional extra..

You may get a bit of stick on choosing black though!! I was going for black but was (quite rightly) dissuaded from the guys on here not to go for it. Going for Silverstone instead and very glad I changed it.

Black is quite discrete and doesn’t really show the M lines of the car that well. But if that’s what you want, then all good!

I suppose that's a good point. Out of curiosity, what made you choose Black Terry?

We went round in circles several times as a family trying to agree on colour combination. Black with silverstone was one of the few we agreed on.

BSM was too much for me though! Looks like nothing else clean though, Batmobile.

I like the idea of a civilised family discussion buying an M3! Unfortunately in my house the family had zippo say in any of it! I think the discussion was mostly on the lines of "you're going to kill yourself you idiot".

Anyway, welcome to the club, sounds like a great colour combo, I had a 330D beforehand so I'm also a convert.
