I've been "awaiting carrier assignment" since March 17th!

that is after "At the Port" status, right? I'm giving BMW 7 more days. If the car hasn't moved by 5/25, I'm not buying it.

If it moves and is closer to me, I really need to be convinced to keep it.The dealer can sell it for all I care. I've gone sour during this entire escapade. it's a total joke.

I can appreciate your frustration, from the date I ordered the car and put the deposit down (7/14) to delivery (3/19) was 8 months and 5 days. I reread this thread but didn't see - when did you order the car?

While their communication stinks, think about what BMW is managing through - it's a logistical nightmare because there are so many different issues they're dealing with (RAMs, wire harnesses, ship availability, etc.) and every car's status is unique. It would be impossible for them to keep track of what's going on with every car. I'm not making excuses for BMW, but my job puts me in contact with lots of companies across the country in lots of different industries, and there are issues everywhere - production delays in SE Asia, availability of shipping containers, delays loading ships in Asia, delays unloading ships here, shortage of trucking capacity, labor challenges, blah, blah, blah ...

Again, I know the wait sucks, but trust me - once you get in the driver's seat, mash the go peddle, and navigate down a nice twisty road you'll forget all about the delivery delay and realize ... yes, the wait really was worth it! The car is that good.

No that's still at the plant. I just checked yesterday afternoon and now is says "Dispatched From Factory". Genius confirmed it. From what I was told it's the huge back up from shipping and the war that's happening that has really messed with everything.

Defiantly agree with this. Patience is key and the car will arrive eventually and will be awesome and worth the wait!
We can do it!

What would you other option be if it's not a BMW? Ordered my car in January, been at the port for about a month.

Stay patient ... the car will arrive. I waited almost a year but it was well worth it.

Lessen expectations, avoid Genius and don't check BMW website everyday ....

I'm probably a couple weeks out from delivery, finally.

I think you're right and I think I'll forget about this painful experience once I'm behind the wheel. I originally ordered the car in september last year, so roughhly the same timeline as you. I'm expecting it in a couple weeks, i think.

That's great! Check the VIN tool to ensure there are no surprises when it does arrive at Port.

Good luck!!

Don't trust the website. Call the Genius line again and see if they have the name of the vessel your car is assigned to. The system would have only moved it to In Transit if a vessel was assigned.

Mine has been at port since May 17th. I ordered some Port Installed Options so I guess it's going to be there longer, but like everyone said try to avoid the status tracker daily cuz it's been driving me insane not seeing any movement lol

Between the genius hotline and the website don't know what to believe anymore. My cars been at port for a month called up genius today and told me arrived at the port yesterday. At this point just going to hope and pray it comes soon.

If mine takes 2 months at the port, I’ll probably back out and go a different direction. Combine those 2 months with the fact that mine hasn’t even been built yet, I’m looking at October. People will have already received delivery of the 2023s by that point. We’ll see how this goes over the next few weeks.

I spoke to a few geniuses...they said bmw likely moved my car from one port to another that might have more capacity or vessels coming to it. It's just all over the place. and oh yeah, my dealer isn't even responding to my texts any more.
