Wishing to clean up loose ends, I do need to provide - our X3 M40i was added to the recall after I posted this, and we were an Oct 2017 build. Complete inspection today showed all screws in place on the rear spoiler. A check of the fuel line routing was performed, the tank leak Temp sensor was addressed, and apparently an Owner's Manual hardcopy update was done (haven't looked at it).

Hi All

Very new to this forum as I’ve not taken delivery of my X3 M40i yet... ordered it a few weeks ago and it’s hopefully arriving mid May.

Currently have an Audi SQ5 which I’ve loved for 3 yrs from new... but the new version is not as good looking, not as quick, and I’m bored of Audi... hence my first BMW!

Looking forward to joining the discussions.

First question- has anyone taken delivery of an M40i that has the M40i badge lower down on the boot door? I was playing with the configurator and a few things have changed since I ordered!

Cheers

Welcome to the M40i club!

I got mine fully debadged - adds to the stealth of the car!

Any UK M40i owners out that care to share some insurance details. I'm about to add my M40i to my insurance and I think they are taking the Mickey! They want me to mention every optional extra over base spec so they can decide if they are going to charge me more. Best quote I've seen is £360 with 11 yrs no claims but that is before the optional extra discussions. That is no frills insurance fully comp, no loan car or any other cover( legal breakdown) if added it pushes yearly cost to north of £430.

Mine's about £470 with Esure. That's with 14 years protected no claims, legal cover and courtesy car. And I'm in central London. When I originally called Esure to swap my car they quoted me £900 per year, so I cancelled over the phone and then took new (identical) insurance out with them on line.

I'm with Esure as well - paying about £530 in SW London but I have less NCB.

Worth noting that they are same group as Sheila's Wheels so I got an online quote off them then called up Esure and said I had x quote from Sheila's Wheels and they were able to corroborate then discount accordingly. Same goes for Admiral and Elephant.

My M40i has just started production this week. Is there anyway i can tell if it will have the m sport diff? It states that it is included on the BMW website when you build the car? But as its a no cost option i just wanted to check that it is definitely on my car.

Put your VIN into one of the VIN decoders and I'm pretty sure that will tell you. Your dealer should be able to confirm also. Cheers

Mine was built last Friday, (13th) VIN suggests in Spartanburg though I have read that South African plant is now also building the X3 and the VIN decode download does not include the code for msport diff and everything else seems to be included.

What is the time to uk delivery, does anybody know.

Nope. Last month the line was that it would be released by the end of Apr. No new information avail at all. Starting to get fed up with the lack of info. Someone somewhere must have a plan to sort out this whole mess. If this person does exist my dealer does not have his/her number!

Mine's fallen behind ... at dealer's on Thursday with pickup next Saturday too. Hopefully no delay like Sharpedge, can't believe BMW haven't sorted out his issue yet.

Hi, sorry to gatecrash this thread. I’ve been looking at ordering an M40i and wondered what sort of discounts people were getting on the X3? Dealer offered 3% for cash as a starting point though I assume that would increase as with all negotiations. However, some online brokers seem to be around 10% and I wondered if dealers might be matching this? Many thanks
